That was a nice pass.Russell Gage just threw the prettiest deep pass any Falcon has thrown this year - lined up under center (with Ryan out wide) and fired a seed to Ridley for a 39-yard TD.
Sadly, it was a more impressive throw than any made by Cam this year. He whipped that sucker to Ridley.Russell Gage just threw the prettiest deep pass any Falcon has thrown this year - lined up under center (with Ryan out wide) and fired a seed to Ridley for a 39-yard TD.
Robert Mays and Nate Tice talked about Wentz on their pod this past Monday. They'd need someone to risk trading for him and absorbing the 33 million he's getting next year. (They speculated perhaps the Colts might if Reich thought he saw something in him he could fix.) If I remember correctly they could cut him after next season and the cap hit wouldn't be as ruinous as it would be if they tried to cut him this offseason.Nice back shoulder throw by Hurts.
What’s the plan with Wentz? Isn’t he untradeable /uncutable
He is not cuttable. He is tradeable, if a team is desperate, but the Eagles will not get much back because a team will be taking on that contract and will need to have cap space.Nice back shoulder throw by Hurts.

I wonder if the Falcons and Eagles would agree to a Ryan-for-Wentz trade if the dead money on their respective contracts could be absorbed. (I think both QBs are salvageable with the right offensive minds coaching them up; Ryan is better, but he's also much older.)He is not cuttable. I think Wentz can definitely have a solid career, but it won't happen in Philly. But I don't understand why Philly would do that with Hurts on the team? I mean, the trade isn't going to happen because (to my knowledge) dead money can't be exchanged as such...but the jury is very much still out on whether Hurts is going to be a serviceable NFL quarterback. Letting him develop under Ryan for a few years and seeing what if anything he turns into wouldn't be a terrible plan.I think Wentz can definitely have a solid career, but it won't happen in Philly. Mercifully interrupting another anecdote about a Guy Who Knew Kobe Bryant.Kenny Moore just made an interception that would make OBJ proud.
I call that the DK Metcalf or the Thielen now. OBJ doesn't deserve the honorific. He is not good anymore. Nobody has gotten more mileage out of a catch in a loss than Odell has.Kenny Moore just made an interception that would make OBJ proud.
The Saints cannot possibly reach the Super Bowl with Taysom Hill as their starting QB, can they?
They definitely can. There is no team in the NFC that doesn't have a flaw. The Saints cannot possibly reach the Super Bowl with Taysom Hill as their starting QB, can they?

You're right about the latter...but Hill (or Winston) taking all of the snaps at QB may be the biggest biggest flaw of them all, if you follow me.They definitely can. There is no team in the NFC that doesn't have a flaw.
Maybe. Chavez' catch was better, in his defense.Endy Chavez?
I've spent far, far too much time wondering if the Falcons could sneak into #7 seed in the NFC by winning out and getting to 8-8. (I mean, it's not going to happen - they still have to play the Chiefs, and also the Bucs twice - but it's not out of the realm of possibility that 8-8 might make the playoffs given the teams lurking just above .500.)The two most fun games in this block:
The Colts versus Raiders, which really matters, and the Falcons versus the Chargers, which doesn't at all.
They have the #1 defense and a great running game (including himself). Is he that much worse than Trent Dilfer, Jim McMahon, Brad Johnson and Doug Williams, when you include his running? You're right about the latter...but Hill (or Winston) taking all of the snaps at QB may be the biggest biggest flaw of them all, if you follow me.
The Saints' strengths are probably stronger than those of any other NFC team. But I don't think we've seen Hill play against a good to very good defense yet - I'm pretty confident his worst is yet to come. They have the #1 defense and a great running game (including himself).
