If this goes seven, I have to think NY has all the momentum, regardless of Cole being on the mound. The pressure will all be on Houston not to commit a historic choke.

Do you think that NY has any regrets about keeping Stanton on the ALCS roster and keeping CC as long as they did? Take out the emotional attachment to CC. Were there better options?
In hindsight, I don't think it would have made a lick of difference. If you take Stanton off the roster, you can replace him with either Ford, Voit, or Wade. Perhaps any of them would have performed better than EE has in this series but none of them would have likely gotten a start over him. So then the question is, were there any opportunities to pinch run Wade that would have mattered? None that I can think of. Same with CC, pitching hasn't been an issue this series.

Cole tomorrow against a used up Yankee bullpen and Severino seems like a great matchup for Houston.

Take your chances tonight and then use a Cole tomorrow if you must, or he is ready for Gam 1 Tuesday if you don't use him tonight

Interesting points. It just felt like they were hampered with a 23 man roster and wondered if there might be regrets. Of course should NY prevail, the discussion as it relates to Stanton’s health will arise again. At this point all hands on deck for both teams, every man counts.

For sure. Anything can happen, and the MFYs certainly can win. But Houston is still in the driver's seat, and still will be if they lose tonight.

The cradle of the game.
Papi: “Karate Kid in the House! Bam! C’mon, man!!” over replay of ‘04 ALCS ARod/SaturnNuts incident... while sitting in the studio next to ARod. Fucking gold.

Yeah, NY has basically gone with their best possible defensive lineup to start these games since Hicks’ return, so that combined with the short bench makes pinch-hitting hard.

At least I know I’m not crazy (this time). I guess both teams think their 4th starter sucks and had that thought the same year? I hate it.
German is suspended and Miley was a top 10 pitcher in the league most of the season who hit a wall in September, got knocked out in the first a few times, and isn't even on the roster now even though he is healthy.

Thanks for the background, I’ve been really confused about this. I guess Loasiga wasn’t stretched out anymore.

Actually Happ was great in September (a sub-2 ERA) and Urquidy was pretty good too, but these teams trust their staff depth more than those guys (although they will both likely be used tonight for extended stints.)
