Regardless of how the players turn out (uncertainty can be said about any draft pick), they played their hand quite well and came out with some pretty nice prospects, while also adding more draft ammo down the road. They need to add as many top end players as they can and they added three tonight, a first round pick for next year and still have a treasure trove of draft capital this weekend.Until Garrett gets a career ending injury Peppers fails another drug test and the Miami TE retires before the season
He'll be this year's 2nd round RB stealDalvin Cook is not a 1st round pick. I am shocked.
My guess is not for long. I can see both teams trading down for even more picks.Packers and Seahawks have the first two picks tomorrow
They traded down, then up, right? So, SF traded DOWN and ended up with Thomas and Foster?
Nope, no one close at the WR slot especially for the 32 and trading down 15 picks from the 3rd to the 4thAnyone left you'd want more than 2 years of Cooks minus a third round pick?
I thought he looked vaguely competent for a rookie last year all things considered. He has journeyman vet potential. That's a buzzkill.
Sometimes the draft is like a box of chocolates.Forrest Lamp slips to Day 2 ... I could have seen him to NE at 32
Well this draft is crazy considered one of if not the worst O-line class ever.NO got the best tackle on the draft at #32. That never happens.
Maybe they get Kizer tomorrowAdam SchefterVerified account @AdamSchefter 25m25 minutes ago
And so after the Browns took Myles Garrett and Jabrill Peppers, they now will head to camp with Cody Kessler projected to start at QB.
At this point Belichick could trade Brady for a 6th round pick and run two QB formations featuring Tim Tebow and Jamarcus Russell and I'd still swear on a stack of Bibles that it's what gives the Pats the best chance to win.I can't second guess BB, but it will stink to watch Jimmy G sit the bench this year and then sign somewhere else.
And can now go to a needy GB team.Dalvin Cook is not a 1st round pick. I am shocked.
I would do the dance of joy if that happens. LSU secondary was a binky of mine. Really not liking them going intradivision. So White will replace Butler next year?
I wanted Dallas to take him badlySurprised King looks like he will slip to the 2nd round. Though he would be long gone
I was told there would be no math.Anyone left you'd want more than 2 years of Cooks minus a third round pick?
Eh. I don't see a character concerns guy being picked by the Pats at this stage. It's not like they're desperate for talent and the morning of the WH visit is still fresh. Here's one stab at a Day 2 Mock

No. 72 New England Patriots (from Carolina): Tim Williams, OLB, Alabama
Ah, the Patriots pick at last! They actually get a first-round pass rushing talent in Williams, who slipped because of character concerns.
No. 96 New England Patriots: Adam Shaheen, TE, Ashland
The Division-II prospect is a big pass-catcher who is said to have Rob Gronkowski-like traits.
C'mon ... it's time to don your big boy pants. Jeff Howe and Mary Kay Cabot ought to have kids together --I can't second guess BB, but it will stink to watch Jimmy G sit the bench this year and then sign somewhere else.
There is no way new England goes for that. That has the value of two second round picks this year. I have to think they were offered more than that given what we saw some of the teams give up to draft a quarterback.I think at this point all indications are that there just isn't mutual interest in a Jimmy G trade. That said, if there is (or it arises), Cleveland still has plenty of ammo to get it done. E.g., they could package either 2(52) or 3(65) with the 2018 HOU 1st, which would make some sense for both sides. Cle avoids giving up a high 1st (1/12/theirs next year) and walks away from the draft with a really solid haul. Not that I can ever guess what NE would do, but with that late 2nd/top 3rd pick they'd have a great shot at Sidney Jones as a Malcolm replacement for next season (or more likely, someone from Rutgers), while adding a late first for next year.
They're already shipping! Can't wait to get a game used Engram jersey.
By most draft value charts the Browns actually lost value if you discount the 2018 pick, and even if you don't it is rather close. I definitely think they should have gotten more, especially considering how desperate Houston apparently was.Not sure that's a great trade. Could be 25&25 for 12. There are some pretty good prospects on the board.
If I'm the patriots I sign Barnridge asap. Yes, even w Gronk and Allen. He's a very, very good player. Don't get this release.Barnridge is a very good TE with shitty quarterbacks throwing to him.
Well it depends on how much, doesn't it? If he's willing to do a cheap deal, there's no downside other than the opportunity cost of not having some UDFA in campHe's also 32 in September. Pass.
I guess, I'd rather see them draft a guy and try to developWell it depends on how much, doesn't it? If he's willing to do a cheap deal, there's no downside other than the opportunity cost of not having some UDFA in camp
Same hereI guess, I'd rather see them draft a guy and try to develop
They have 90 roster spots at the start of camp and very, very few picks so there's no reason you can't do both. And I'll bet they do add some young TEs, given the age, contract situation, health history, and limited special teams potential of Allen and Gronk.I guess, I'd rather see them draft a guy and try to develop
So why would Barnidge want to sign in NE?They have 90 roster spots at the start of camp and very, very few picks so there's no reason you can't do both. And I'll bet they do add some young TEs, given the age, contract situation, health history, and limited special teams potential of Allen and Gronk.
True he's only been very good when Shiity QB Josh McCown played.Barnridge is a very good TE with shitty quarterbacks throwing to him.
