Here
There's a schedule floating around that has us with five 8:30 games and four 1PM games. Lets hope that's fake.

It is absolutely fake.  It had us hosting the Jets the last week of the season and we all know the last 2 weeks will be on the road due to the Winter Classic.

Yes, but think about the hilarity of watching the Jets trying to play on ice.  You know BB would have the team prepared, practicing on skates and be ready to go.

FWIW, Patriots.com Radio guys who do PFW say people in league circles get the schedule around 3 pm and are asked to hold off on publishing it until 8 pm.  So, I would say you'd start to see leaks at 3:01.

I really hope not. I'm planning on going out to the Dallas game if it's any other week than Thanksgiving. FWIW, I remember Zolak saying he didn't think it would happen because he thought the Pats would open on Thursday against the Jets and each team only has to play one Thursday game. But I'm with you it just seems to make too much sense that it would be Thanksgiving

Each team typically plays only one Thursday night game, but the season opener doesn't count. Seattle and Green Bay both played Thursday night games in 2014 in addition to the opener. (Dallas actually played back-to-back Thursday games last season.)

gonna spend a little bit trying to find a magic link for this stuff in advance of 8, cause i'm sure it'll be hidden on some servers and pretty publicly available.

biggest reason i think they gave us the steelers to kick things off is because fox is going to do everything in their power to protect the iggles game and push it to a national audience at 4pm.

NJ.com is reporting Jets at Bills Week 17.  So Pats not playing either of them the last week.
Which means they'll be playing Miami in Miami due to the B's game in Foxboro

Which is the worst of the 3 options.

Pats are 7-10 in their last 17 games in Miami, Brady and BB are 7-7 down there, and they've lost their last two games on the road to the fish.

I'd prefer Jets or Buffalo.

I'd rather be playing in Miami in December than September.  I'll take that tradeoff especially if there's nothing to play for that week.  Might be a nice road trip!

December is the better of the two alternatives, but Miami is - in my opinion - the better team of the three, regardless. The Jets and Bills will both be 2+ games out of the playoff hunt by week 17. I'd rather take the cupcakes.

The ring ceremony happens at Kraft's house.  The Steelers will see the unveiling of the championship banner and the related festivities.

Hopefully, the rest of the season will go better than the last time this happened (2002) and the night will proceed along similar lines (30-14).

I'll take my shot even without Bell. With a new defensive scheme, at least Brady and BB won't have reams of film to analyze and dissect.

Also, at least anecdotally, teams are often off their game on ring/banner night.

Anyway, given the Steelers fortunes against the Pats over the last 15 years, I'll hang my hat on anything. :)

Masterful selective leaking throughout the day, saving more than enough for the program tonight.

(Just as there was masterful selective leaking for almost a week after the last AFC Championship game)

On some stuff, the guys in the League office are dumber than a box full of hammers. Not on this stuff.

From a Super Bowl 50 standpoint, this isn't just a generically good "these teams play in Super Bowls" matchup, but as franchises combine for the most total SB appearances (8 and 8) and represent the #1 and #2 from the AFC for wins (6 and 4). Only the Steelers - 49ers matchup in 2015 will have more Lombardis (6 and 5).

so how does this work? the nfl lets some media dolts release like one game or whatever (that's "approved" to leak) to keep us lemmings talking about it all day until the official release tonight?
