Who do you root for now?
Do you pack it in, watch no more hockey, and focus on who Tom Brady plays next?
Or do you pick a B team?
Sweden, the kind, slightly bland hosts with the mannish, bouquet-bearing girls in traditional garb?
Canada, your insignificant continental partner, whom you are likely reminded of only when witnessing your own shortcomings?
Finland, the little-known Scandinavian mavericks who kindly knelt before your coronation at Lake Placid?
Or Russia? Oh wait, that's entirely out of the question.
So, now that I've spelled it out, anyone still paying attention who isn't rooting hard for the Finns?
I suspect you might be backing a winner.ForceAtHome said:Sweden. (Go Burakovsky!) Definitely Sweden. I'm a big Wennberg fan, too. And I wish I was still a Forsberg fan. If not the Swedes, the Finns. I hope Canada and Russia are playing for another third place consolation medal just like last year.
If it ends up being Canada-Sweden, I fear for the McDavid-Dansk storyline being a little too prominent.

Year after year, we two are the only ones for the True North. This year is my first WJC experience as a Canadian citizen!scotian1 said:Funny that there isn't much love for Canada here yet the Bruins, this sites favourite team, are one of the teams with the highest number of Canadians in the league. Hard to say. Depends on the snow. We're a little light on the snowpack so far. Revie is reliable, but I'd like to ski it when it's colder to maximize it's huge vertical. Lake Louise is great, but prone to drought. Look at it this way, if it's clear, the scenery is gorgeous. If it's not,the skiing will likely be better.goyangfc said:BC! Nice. BTW, when is the best time to do Edmonton -> Jasper -> Lake Louise (maybe ski there for 1-2 days) -> Banff -> Revelstoke (ski for 2-3 days)?Canada look very energetic so far. The crowd is really into it too.

Agreed. I had a feeling Canada was going to get found out; I just thought it would be in the final. Full credit to the 'Phins. They contested everything, and the TC players showed little skill. Ah well.scotian1 said:Well Finland full deserving of this win. Thy completely stymied the Canadian offense.

Less than 51 weeks before it all happens again!
(Next year's Group A looks a lot like this year's: Finland, Canada, U.S., Slovakia, and Germany. Only one change.)
