It's as if 18 green has a force field around it. It must be nearly impossible because guys this good shouldn't all miss it like this. Has anyone been on in 2 of the 2 matches that got there?

Disagreeing with the consensus on Reed/Spieth.  Reed is a notorious boom/bust player with limited scrambling skills - which works great in fourball where you can play aggressive knowing you have a partner out there but in foursomes he'll cost them three holes with wayward shots.

Love the Kuch/Furyk and Mahan/Johnson pairs.  Perfect steady-edy, make a bunch of pars, scare in a few birds and steal 1.5 points.

My issue is that Reed and Speith hit fairways and greens all morning long. I get your point, but I wonder if the risk wasn't worth the possible reward of another smack down.

If I'm Watson, I want to see how everyone is playing on Friday and only adjust my plan in the case of a major meltdown.  So boom/bust players (Reed/Watson/Mick) out in fourballs with tee/green players (johnson/kooch/mahan) in foursomes.  Tee up guys for their strengths and stick to a plan you've probably outlined to them the night before.

Then, Saturday all bets are off.  Watson/Simpson will likely sit the entire day.  Spieth/Reed will go out first in fourballs and if they are hot then they'll get the ticket to roll the dice on foursomes.  See who plays well this afternoon and pair them up with Keegan when you need to sit Mick.

Do you split Reed and Spieth up and put them with others that are playing well?
