No Fun League.

I really don't get why the NFL is so intent on driving those kinds of things out of the game. These guys are out there literally putting their lives on the line playing a stupid game. Let them celebrate when they accomplish something like scoring a TD.

Well, there you go. Penalize the guys that fuck up the goal posts, not everyone.

That said, I've never, ever remember coming back from a commercial and there being a delay attributed to this.
Jimmy Graham of the Saints caused a delay in a game against the Falcons last year  when he misaligned the goalposts after scoring a touchdown.

Okay.

So, once? I just didn't think this was an issue that caused so many issues that they needed to penalize it.

Once is just the beginning.

I think this rule change also relates to possibly extending the goal posts another 5 feet which could make them more top heavy and possibly more likely to come out of alignment. There is even some concern or questions  about them coming down altogether.

I don't think it's a big deal. Players will just need to think of something else. I don't think it has to do with taking the fun out.

The adding cameras for replay seems like a no brainer to me.

They did vote to experiment with XP from 20 during 2 weeks in preseason.

Voted down changing their IR rule. I really wish they would change this.

We saw this happen in the Pats game today and I don't get it.
The Pats on defense were called for PI while the Raiders were called for an illegal substitution and Holding and they offset and replayed the down.

I want to know in general why does the NFL penalize the PI (offsetting) when it only occurred because of the Holding and after an illegal substitution, Shouldn't Offensive Holding which gives the QB more time to throw and makes the DB cover longer be penalized, but not the PI which can only occur while the ball is in the air and holding by a lineman can not occur at that point(assuming).

This seems like a simple premise that right now benefits the offense because it does not exist.
