I wonder where this ranks among the 59's   It's not a brutally difficult course, but at the same time, this is the playoffs, and it seems like the course was playing pretty fair to par today.  He was I think more than 12 stroked below course average today

I don't know enough about the other 59s in history to know where this one ranks, but Notah Begay, one of the on the course reporters, said he mentioned how Furyk was playing (-11 through 16 at that point) to Tiger and Tiger's response was "is he playing the same course as the rest of us?"  Says a lot, I think.

Six strokes better than the next lowest score.  Made up 9 strokes on the leader and moved up 38 places.

Tiger penalized 2 strokes again yesterday.  He was trying to remove some sticks around the ball. The ball started to move and Tiger instantly stopped what he was doing.  Tiger said the ball oscillators rather than moved so he didn't penalize himself.

Is it really so hard for him to call in a rules official? I can't understand why Tiger, or any other pro for that matter, would take things into their own hands. The officials are there for a reason. Use them. The risk of screwing something up while taking a drop, moving an object, etc. by yourself is about 9348739857 times greater than with an official. Especially for someone like Tiger who has every single shot on camera.

It wouldn't of mattered if tiger had a rules official with him, the movement was so minuscule there is no way anyone but tiger could have seen it. Even if tiger thought it was movement and not oscillation, how could he have put it back in the original position? It moved not more than 1 ball dimple

Well at least Tiger doesn't need to worry about the cut.      Yikes

He had it to -5 on his round through 13.   And has since gone Double, Par, Bogey, Triple. He finishes his round at +1 on the day and tied with Dufner in last place

Keegan holes it from 170 on #7, and celebrates by dropping to the ground and Duffnering

Since when does the season start now? I always thought Kapalua was the first event of the year?

Brandon Chamblee with a tweeted apology.  What a wimp.  Backs down with the threat of a lawsuit, and isn't man enough to apologize on the air -- no, it's a succession of tweets.  He was as wrong as wrong can be to begin with, so maybe he accomplished his objective -- to increase his own name recognition.  When does he get hired by Fox?

Interesting 72nd hole today. Tiger and Zach Johnson tied for lead. Tiger bunkers his approach. Zach then hits into pond from middle of fairway, waking up a couple of ducks. Zach drops, holes a 50-harder for par. Tiger gets a tough sand shot to two feet. Playoff just starting.

Johnson's putt for birdie on the playoff hole looked good until it bounced over Tiger's marker.  Surprising that he didn't ask Tiger to putt out or move the marker if that was the line he was going to attempt.  It was just his day that both his mistakes (the 2nd shot on 18, not moving the marker) didn't cost him.  He was locked in on the back, save for that one shot on 18.
