How long will sponsors want to sponsor if half the roster isn’t playing? Or put differently, how long will fans continue to watch?
I had originally assumed that if expanded playoffs happened, that the bowls would go away. But who knows.
I had a random thought about this the other day wondering if gigabuck NIL contracts in the future might have clauses in them to guarantee participation barring injury.
Hell yes. MACtion on Tuesday and Wednesday nights is a ritual for me. I love it.

I could see them being favored against all four, to be honest.
On one hand, it was a worst case scenario for the committee this year. On the other, it generated ample media coverage and will steer more eyeballs towards next year's playoffs, which are going to be an absolute boon.
Unlikely. The widespread legalization of gambling is pushing these ratings higher. Sponsors will pay for ratings and some of the smaller bowls early in the season were up year over year.
