I think it's always fair to point out that every QB lays a stinker every now and then. Even Brady was good for 1 or 2 mulligans per season.Burrow has been to a Super Bowl and AFC championship game. Marc Jones will be lucky to play in the Toliet Bowl. Thats a take off on an old joke Glenn Foley the BC and Jets Qb said about Rutgers football in the 90s. Anyway hopefully you were joking or being sarcastic. I didn't see LOL though.
Anyone who compares Burrow to Jones needs head examined. Maybe you took too many boxing punches.
5At this point the 2021 QB class has to be among the most underwhelming in history considering the expectations. 4 picked in top 15 and chances are good only one will remain with the same team after his rookie contract.
Even worse, chances are good we'll see at least 4 go top 15 again in 2024, hopefully we pick the right one this time. Then also hit on a WR or 2, 2 OT and an IOL.
By people in New England did he mean the fans, the media, or the coaching staff, or ownership?Howie Long came out in postgame and said he thinks people in New England are at the point where they don’t think he’s the guy. Said it off the cuff, but I don’t think Long says things like that unless someone whispered something in his ear.
Didn't Colin Cowherd also say he was hearing some bad things about him from New England but he didn't want to get into specifics? And Cowherd has been one of the few staunchly pro Mac national guys.Howie Long came out in postgame and said he thinks people in New England are at the point where they don’t think he’s the guy. I took it as the team. But it was off the cuff.By people in New England did he mean the fans, the media, or the coaching staff, or ownership?
This is ridiculous. Of course they would accept it, why the fuck would we. Zach Wilson is barely a practice squad playerCan we do the change of scenery Jones for Zach Wilson trade?
Would the Jets even accept that?
Of course the Jets would accept that, they'd be trading god awful for mediocre. Can we do the change of scenery Jones for Zach Wilson trade?

If there's a "DAWG" metric for QBs, Mac is on the other end of that score from Mayfield. It is pretty sad when Baker Mayfield is picked up off the scrap heap and has looked better than Jones.
Baker is interesting though, he was kinda good on terrible teams and his decline coincided with getting injured from many many games getting the shit kicked out of him.It is pretty sad when Baker Mayfield is picked up off the scrap heap and has looked better than Jones.
Yeah I saw those comments from Cowherd too. I wouldn’t think these guys would be whispering these things unless a solid connection is telling them there’s smoke because there’s fire.Didn't Colin Cowherd also say he was hearing some bad things about him from New England but he didn't want to get into specifics? Honestly wouldn't surprise to see these stories coming from a coaching staff that wants to take some pressure off.
I always thought the general sports viewing public equated Mayfield and Manziel and Baker got a terrible rap from the start, when all he's done is fight for his NFL life and had some great moments in shitty situations. He won a game with the Rams with literally no prep. He's not particularly great, but he can make plays and is a QB1 in this league.Baker is interesting though, he was kinda good on terrible teams and his decline coincided with getting injured from many many games getting the shit kicked out of him.
His 3rd year he went 11-5 and took the CLEVELAND BROWNS to the playoffs (with a not good defense) with this passcatching corps

You're doing that thing again.Of course the Jets would accept that, they'd be trading god awful for mediocre.

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or emotions or what, but if you really feel this way, you really shouldn’t post your thoughts on quarterback play anywhere public unless you wanna be clowned for being profoundly dumbAt this point I think I’d rather have Wilson

Your first three sentences are arguable. I’m not sure I wholeheartedly agree with them but they exist in a reasonable universe. The Cunningham thing seems shortsighted and crazy to me, unless you mean…because it would be fun. Cunningham is not remotely an NFL quarterback. What is this based on?Jones stinks. The team stinks. The guy who assembled it is stuck in the past.
I want to see Cunningham

For what its worth (I dont know shit about football), all the Williams highlights Ive seen look like stuff he will never get away with in the NFL.Caleb Williams?
I watched the guy play at Louisville. He is a legit talent whose skillset a) is more closely aligned with where NFL offenses are trending and b) may be able to conceal other offensive deficiencies that a middling pocket passer can't.Your first three sentences are arguable. not saying you are wrong, but its pretty rare for nfl teams to have a certain judgement of a guy they see every day in practice turn out to be very wrong. he's not an unknown commodity to the coaching staff. its certainly possible hes better than mac.I watched the guy play at Louisville. Look. I don't know what Cunningham can be. But he's an unknown commodity. Id argue that the narrative he isnt good is what is truly not based on evidence. I'd love to see what he can do. If he stinks too, it means er have 3 lousy qb, and we clean house next year (likely with a very good draft pick).
I think he has a chance to have a 10+ year career as a backup. But, who in their right mind is letting him start a game in the NFL after this season beyond a spot start situation? Dude just doesn’t have it. The mental mistakes are the most disappointing for me. We all knew the physical limitations but he came in saying all the right things, did a good job his rookie season, and then he has simply just regressed. He's been benched twice in 2 years. I don't know how you build a successful career with the same team where that happened. I can't think of a scenario where Mac gets his 5th-year option.
He's got a very successful backup/journeyman career ahead of him but his career is done here. There is no need for tears, it happens all over the league. He'll be fine and still make lots of money, he's just not winning anything in the league.I think he has a chance to have a 10+ year career as a backup. The irony is that if he was our backup right now we'd all be thrilled. He'd instantly be the best backup in that league.I think he has a chance to have a 10+ year career as a backup. Schaub probably. Feel like it’s always been Schaub in Houston.Mac is not as bad as he played today. This one really got away from him. I’m not convinced he is better than Zappe if he is going to make decisions like he did today. I do t see better options out there for the Pats right now. Who backed up Watson when BOB was there?
I would add that his judgment was terrible yesterday. The thing that pisses me off about Mac is he hasn't gotten better at throwing the ball.
With better footwork and an improved motion he could throw a rope more the 20 yards, but in 3 years he has not made a single adjustment. Its a shame.
What pissed me off is that he did the same thing right before and it worked. And then his mindset wasn't "phew, got away with one". He tried it again. Can't be arrogant with that arm.I would add that his judgment was terrible yesterday.
Mac came out of the gate yesterday with a couple of nice throws. He bought some time and hit Douglas for the big play. His offensive line let him down. A lot went wrong beyond Mac.
But what really made this a terrible was just the poor judgment. You can't have Mac's arm and throw back across the field and not know that you are risking getting picked off.
And surely the Cowboys D was ready for it that second time around. When Mac goes into hero ball mode he is always a disaster waiting to happen. What pissed me off is that he did the same thing right before and it worked. This season he’s made some pretty terrific throws playing “hero ball”.And surely the Cowboys D was ready for it that second time around. When Mac goes into hero ball mode he is always a disaster waiting to happen.
That wasn't hero ball. That was him on complete tilt. He mentally shut down in the worst way possible. This is not a viable trait in a starting QB.And surely the Cowboys D was ready for it that second time around. When Mac goes into hero ball mode he is always a disaster waiting to happen.
