What is the shortest term for a 1st year head coach that didn't get fired for off-field issues? Hackett simply can't hack it as a HC.

Broncos should fire him immediately
And not just for this game which was pretty indefensible. He has been terrible and made terrible decisions in every game. The spotlight is just to much for him.

And Wilson is bound to start bitching sooner rather than later.

Watching that abomination might have been worth it to see Richard Sherman in the postgame show shouting “RUN THE BALL!!”

Jets coach Bill Belichick?
I'd count that as off-field, funny there is a coach that was fired in the pre-season after just two games, George Allen in 77. If we extend it to coaches that actually coached a team in the reg season the record is 9 games, Pete McCulley in 78 went 1-8 before being fired. Had DEN not gotten some lucky wins I think Hackett beats that record, he is so, so bad.

Worst part is Russell had plenty of time in the pocket. Even Hamler saw this and waved Sutton through his zone to try and draw both defenders to Sutton, which I think was going to work if Russ had held the ball for another second and he'd have had Hamler wide open a second time for the TD.

Both pods i listened to today (simmons, lombardi) spoke at how bad the quarterbacking has been this year. That was before this game

I do wonder if we are creeping ever closer toward that “When Tom Brady retires I’m done watching football” period we all have been emptily threatening the last several years. Product has been pretty terrible this year.

Yeah I can't see how you blame Hackett... he went for the win, drew up a play that got a WR UNCOVERED.... and his QB missed it

Edit- actually it's even worse than just missing an open WR, he never looked right, even though the play has a designed pick/rub specifically in the hopes of getting a wide open slant. Russ never looks, not once, the play is executed perfectly, walk in game winning TD if he looks right even once.

So the last play made it really obvious, but there are others this year and last.....

Russ doesn't go through his progressions. He picks a guy pre-snap, if that guy isn't open it's checkdown or scramble. He's Sam Bradford with wheels.
