I think if anything got proven last night it's that both Duke and Carolina deserve 1 seeds. So if Duke wins today - does the ACC get three 1 seeds? Does Duke pass UNC? Tough decisions for the committee.
Edit: FWIW Lunardi moved Duke back to a 1 seed and UNC to a 2 after last night
I'd probably agree, but who do you put on the second line - Kentucky, Gonzaga, or Virginia?I think if anything got proven last night it's that both Duke and Carolina deserve 1 seeds.
My fear is if all the expected outcomes happen (Duke wins tonight, UK the SEC, and Michigan St the Big Ten), UNC is getting sent to the south as the 2 and will have to play Kentucky in Louisville to make the final four if they get that far.So if Duke wins today - does the ACC get three 1 seeds? Does Duke pass UNC? Tough decisions for the committee.

I like how the Ivy League just does a final four instead of every team going to the tournament.Crimson starting to pull away from Penn in the first Ivy semi-final, but it’s not been a very impressive performance.
The 4th #1 in my mind comes down to UNC vs UK vs. Michigan State. Kentucky was on the 1 line today and Lunardi had UNC paired with the 4th #1 in UK. A UK loss and Duke win might flip-flop UK and UNC. A Duke loss and Michigan State win may jump the Spartans to a 1.Doesn't Duke have to win tonight? I mean I guess they can say none of the games Zion missed count (which is crapola but whatever) but a 1 seed for a team that was third in the conference and didn't win the conference tournament is shaky ground to me anyways.
I don’t necessarily disagree, but basically everyone is going to bitch and moan regardless. If Duke is a 1 everyone will say they didn’t deserve it. If Duke is a 2, the 1 seed in that region will say it isn’t fair.Doesn't Duke have to win tonight? Agreed...really really solid coachWillard coached the hell out of the last five minutes of that game. I’m a fan. He’s one deep NCAA run from being a candidate for huge jobs.
He should be up for one now.Willard coached the hell out of the last five minutes of that game. I’m a fan. He’s one deep NCAA run from being a candidate for huge jobs.
I agree. His last 4 years have been really good.He should be up for one now.
With Williamson healthy, Duke should absolutely be the #1 overall seed.Lunardi now has Duke 1 in the east, and UNC 1 in the Midwest. 3 1s for the ACC
Now the question is whether Duke is #1 overall.
Well, I don’t recall any consensus about the ACC being the center of college talent prior to the beginning of conference play. And conference play shouldn’t change that. It’s like a feedback loop that exposes biases. Why would it be a joke?
I think the week 9 rankings were basically the last before conference play started for everybody. The ACC had four of the top ten (Duke, Virginia, Florida State, and Virginia Tech) with UNC at 15 and NC State at 18.Well, I don’t recall any consensus about the ACC being the center of college talent prior to the beginning of conference play. And conference play shouldn’t change that. It’s like a feedback loop that exposes biases.
Was a heckuva game...Heckuva game in New Haven. Yale up by 1 at half.

Just my opinion, but that’s why seemingly every year the ACC (as a conference, not Duke) is massively overseeded heading into the tourney.
Yes.Proof?
Do you mean they get lots of top 4 seeds and underperform?
X Rays negative though - amazingly! The injury to Ahrens ot MSU just now is not for the faint of heart.
And then they screw up the play whren the Mich St. player is TRYING to foul the Mich. player. So the guy throws up a shot thinking he was fouled but they NEVER call it! Michigan State ball after that and essentially game over. But like you say there's no amount of time they won't spend going to the monitor for things they can go to the monitor for (And still might get it wrong). It's a roll of the dice in close games. Don't count on the refs to get it right. This is why I hate replay: Mich/Mich St review with 13 seconds left. They take several minutes when it was obvious the Mich State's player's action caused the ball to go OOB, but because the ball was on the Mich player's fingertips a fraction of a second later the officials overturned and it went to MSU. I have no rooting interest but makes for a kind of over-officious game.
I was there too...Heckuva game in New Haven. Yale up by 1 at half.
