I don't understand this league sometimes. Last night Brow & Company played balls-to-the-wall against a 34-10 team at full strength, on the road, took a number of body blows, lost a final-minute lead, and managed to win in overtime. Tonight, they go up against the worst team in the league and can't get it together.Hawks win at home by one over the Pels!
2nd game of a back to back?I don't understand this league sometimes. It's almost like those two things are relatedI don't understand this league sometimes. I was dying when the refs T'ed up Courtney Lee on the jump ball.Memphis is going to win thanks to a couple absolute gifts from the officials.
No, but they seem good at getting chippy and provoking altercations when getting spanked by teams to whom they feel (unjustifiably) superior. Tonight it was Tim Frazier and Jason Smith getting into it with MCW, who later accused them of getting in cheap shots.CHA blows out the 'Zards. Sometimes, WAS doesn't even try on defense.
Nick Wright has only come onto my radar in last few months, but holy hell, is he bad.Pretty funny that guys like Nick Wright and Colin Cowherd can spin this nonsense with a straight face.
This probably won't be a popular opinion on a Celtics board, but basketball would be better off if Hayward had stayed in Utah. Celtics are having no problem without him and with him and Mitchell Utah would be a legit top four team in the West.Mitchell looking like the real ROY this year: 14 for 19 last night for 34 points, and 3 steals. Meanwhile, Fox continues to have a pretty quiet year for the #5 pick in a loaded draft: 1 for 6, and he managed to foul out.
The Celtics might be a kinda sorta GSW threat with him healthy though, that might be better than simply another gnat for them in the West. People are going to get bored of the GSW rampage if they aren't already. This probably won't be a popular opinion on a Celtics board, but basketball would be better off if Hayward had stayed in Utah. Celtics are having no problem without him and with him and Mitchell Utah would be a legit top four team in the West.
This isn't exactly a novel concept. Just like if Durant hadn't gone to GS. But this is what the NBA is now. This probably won't be a popular opinion on a Celtics board, but basketball would be better off if Hayward had stayed in Utah. Celtics are having no problem without him and with him and Mitchell Utah would be a legit top four team in the West.
I know what you meant, so I don't think the "but" fits here...Chicago was the team that dealt the All Star.9 times out of 10, the team that trades away the All-Star for a collection of players gets the better end of the deal, but Chicago probably is going to end up winning that trade.
It'll largely depend on the development of Markkanen as he has the most upside. I think the three guys they acquired look more like nice rotation players than future All-Stars, which means that even if they develop and mature as expected they are still going to be in the market for an All-Star to complement them in the next few years. Maybe that player comes through the draft, but as currently constituted I don't think they are that much better off long-term than they were with Butler.I don't blame Durant for going to Golden State, as a culture we prioritize winning and he made the correct choice in going to the best situation to help him win. It did however, dramatically tilt the table in the NBA and ultimately made the NBA less-enjoyable for fans outside of the Bay Area.
On a side note, the Jimmy Butler trade has become very interesting in hindsight. Butler has been good for the Wolves and has them playing the best basketball the franchise has seen since the KG/Spree/Cassell days. However, Chicago has landed three young players, all of whom are already good NBA players and reasonably could be projected to one day be All-Stars. 9 times out of 10, the team that trades away the All-Star for a collection of players loses the trade, but Chicago probably is going to end up winning that trade.
Right now I think they are all good rotation players; I think it is fairly realistic to project that one of the three will turn into an All-Star.It'll largely depend on the development of Markkanen as he has the most upside. Nets come away with the win, despite Russell with a tough first night back (0 for 5 shooting from the field).Nets hanging close to Heat, down 3 with about 10 minutes left.
Pacers are pretty much Oladipo And Four Other Guys out there. Looks like vintage "Paul Pierce on bad Celtics teams".And I swear Victor Oladipo just showed off a move that he totally stole from Russell Westbrook. The fact that he could pull it off in a game speaks volumes about Victor as an athlete.
