Trout in center, Harper in left, right? So ... Harper's going to play center?
Trust 'The Process?'How do you sell this to the Miami fan base without top prospects coming back? That's why I thought this deal wouldn't get done.
Most games at least one of them will hit at least one home run. This is annoying but just goes to show some things never change.Reminds me of '04. Stanton/Judge is like A-Rod/Sheffield all over again.
Thank goodness the next time these teams are on the field it will be 2018.
Reminiscent of Clemens choosing Toronto in free agency when his stated objective was to move closer to home.Didn't know the Bronx was on the west coast
I hope you had a bucket or a bag readywhen I wake up tomorrow and the deal is done I'm going to throw up.
Collusion. Get Mueller on the line.
With a nice gift bag?How do you sell this to the Miami fan base without top prospects coming back?.
Well, let's see who the prospects are first, I don't see any real reports yet about that, but NY's system is so loaded that their 10-20 guys are a lot better than most. This tweet sums up things nicely:I'm sorry, but how do the Marlins accept Castro (who is fine, nothing special but fine) and "good but not top" prospects? Stanton, even with his contract, should have commanded TOP prospects. Is there ANY chance the Red Sox could have swung this deal without using their top prospects? Zero.
Please explain how this trade drives up the price for Martinez. Also, if you didn't think his annual contract demand did not already start at $20 million, then you're delusional. The price for any power bat the Sox hope to acquire just went up significantly. No way a JDM contract doesn't begin with a '2' now.
Too bad Joe won't need one nearly as oftenJohn Sterling had better come up with a good home run call, because it's one we'll have to listen to an awful lot.
I'd say he meant $200m+ in total, not $20+ million annually. Please explain how this trade drives up the price for Martinez. Also, if you didn't think his annual contract demand did not already start at $20 million, then you're delusional.
The MFY pitching is not that bad.John Sterling had better come up with a good home run call, because it's one we'll have to listen to an awful lot.
McKinney and Cave are 7th and 8th on the OF depth chart now, so one of them could certainly go. There were rumors last night that Miguel Andujar was part of it, and hopefully that's not true because with Torres now pretty definitely at 2B, they need Andujar at 3B behind Headley.[I wonder what not top prospects mean. I bet McKinney goes, someone the Marlins can put on the field right away.
I think he meant that the first number in the total dollar amount will be a 2. As in...total contract is now $200 million or so.Please explain how this trade drives up the price for Martinez. Also, if you didn't think his annual contract demand did not already start at $20 million, then you're delusional.
The best case scenario for our pursuit of JDM was that a Stanton trade would remove one of his suitors, reducing demand. This doesn’t do that. Please explain how this trade drives up the price for Martinez. Also, if you didn't think his annual contract demand did not already start at $20 million, then you're delusional.
This simply isn't true, SF wasn't taking the whole deal and later reports say that the top prospects rumored to be in that deal weren't actually in that deal.If i's not TOP prospects, it should be the NY taking Stanton contract and part of Castro's too.
It's the only way the deal can be spun as NYY doing Jeter a favor instead of the other way around. This simply isn't true, SF wasn't taking the whole deal and later reports say that the top prospects rumored to be in that deal weren't actually in that deal.
As has been said about this all along even before the Yankees were involved, the acquiring cost in talent would be low because the contract is so big. This is the only reason NY got involved, a perfect storm for them.
Stanton named four teams who he would agree to be traded to, and the other three didn't seem to have much interest at all. It's the only way the deal can be spun as NYY doing Jeter a favor instead of the other way around.
Thank you, this made my morning.Derek Jeter just bent over harder for the Yankees on that trade than he did fielding grounders for them the last 5 years of his career.
So that Jeter can repay them for being grossly overpaid for his last 8 years with the MFYs?Why would Miami send NY a dime? The players aren't anything special and Stanton is the reigning NL MVP?
Sorry - the '2' refereed to the value of the total contract, as in $200 million plus. Please explain how this trade drives up the price for Martinez. Also, if you didn't think his annual contract demand did not already start at $20 million, then you're delusional.
Do Intangibles mean nothing to you? The man out of his way to dive headfirst into the stands for them. He admitted to actually living in the city for whom he played so hard for, eventually. So that Jeter can repay them for being grossly overpaid for his last 8 years with the MFYs?
The Marlins certainly could have called his bluff though. That list might have expanded over the next month as the team got stripped down around him.Stanton named four teams who he would agree to be traded to, and the other three didn't seem to have much interest at all.
