As a Bulls fan, I don't really mind the Butler deal...other than the fact that the guys I like at #7 are the Guards, and they just brought two back...
If Monk is there I'll be pissed of they pass on him because they have LaVine (coming off injury) now.

Is it just me or is that a horrible trade for the bulls?? I don't think Much of lavine at all and Dunn we will see but he's blah. Celtics easily coulda trumped that.
it's pretty bad. LaVine will never be as good as Butler, and is injured. Dunn is meh and a 7th pick is decent but they flipped the 16th for it in the process. Celtics equivalent would have been like #3, Brown and Smart.

Isn't it protected?
Per RealGM:

2019 first round draft pick from Memphis
Memphis' 1st round pick to Boston protected for selections 1-8 in 2019 and 1-6 in 2020 and unprotected in 2021 [Boston-Memphis-New Orleans, 1/12/2015]

LaVine is a good young player but Dunn looks to be a bit of a bust. Plus the Bulls sent 16 back to the T-Wolves. That's brutal.

Real glad to get Tatum but man, what a boring draft so far after all the rumors and hype - .every pick according to mock drafts

Isaac can probably block shots with his hair alone. He'll make a fine Big-'Do combo with Elfrid Payton.

If the Warriors weren't a super-team, that Jordan pick for the 3 would have been perfect. Too bad.

Yeah seeing that on Twitter. Kind of a head scratcher. They need shooting. Not another freak athlete who is still learning how to play hoops.
Different philosophies I guess, but when your team is no where near contention just go for best player available. Isaac has arguably higher upside than any player in the draft other than Ball / Fultz.

Isaac projects as a pretty good shooter.
From Draft Express: "He is a lifetime 31.7% from three and shot only 16.7% from three in March and 21.4% from three in December."

So what you are saying but there is a fair bit of risk there. But that's true of all these guys.

Wilbon on talking about how the Bulls should draft a shooter. Like, who cares? Seriously, if youre a bad team, what is the difference if you draft a 3 pt shooter or not? Just get a good player and figure it out later.

Protected 1-8 in'19, 1-6 in '20 and Unprotected in '21. They have a couple years to implode and aren't getting any younger.
Right, but again, that works against us. It's only super valuable once they implode. A pick in the back end of the lottery or out of it doesn't do much, or at least certainly isn't our most valuable asset. If they shit the bed this season, then that's a while other conversation.

You make a great point. BPA is the way to go in these spots.

Right. But Ainge's track record is that he doesn't move these future fliers until he recognizes it's full value after the lottery that summer.
