Michigan is also going to have, what, 10 guys drafted this year? But yeah, it's a miracle what St. Jimmy has been able to do with such a bare cupboard.Honestly, you're an idiot. What Meyer took over is nothing compared to what Harbaugh took over in terms of needing to restock the cupboard and reverse a program in downslide.
No, I just know what a zoo is.Spend a lot of time at the zoo I see.
Makes perfect sense; like animals in captivity, you've got a great ability to fling shit in all directions.
You give Eagles fans everywhere a bad name and considering what a collective pack of assholes they are, that's a monumental fucking achievement on your part.
Ohio State was #2 coming into the week - they're not going to fall out after beating Michigan because Penn State beat Michigan State and Wisconsin. Yes, Penn State won head-to-head and the conference title (in theory) but even considering that, Ohio State's resume blows theirs out of the water. Penn State might get in over Washington or Clemson, but they're not getting in over Ohio State. If Wisconsin wins next week, probably no one.
If Penn State wins next week, I think one-loss tOSU finishes behind two-loss conference champion PSU that beat tOSU head-to-head, and I don't see the Committee pushing out a one-loss conference champion like Clemson or Washington to make room for one-loss non-champion tOSU.
Please, stop. We can all look at the depth chart and see you're starting _one_ underclassmen. Empty cupboard indeed. What Meyer took over is nothing compared to what Harbaugh took over in terms of needing to restock the cupboard and reverse a program in downslide.
The MVP of this thread with a prescient post.Well it's going to be pretty exciting for Ohio State University to win the game thread.
I can't believe you get to start next year's thread with more of your bathroom humor. The MVP of this thread with a prescient post.
Saban - multiple titles
Meyer - multiple titles
Belichick - multiple titles
Harbaugh - ??
When he wins multiple titles then he can act however he wants and no fucks will be given. Until then his act is as much of a joke as Rex's
And the ridiculous play-calling at the goal-line.This is idiotic. The guy has a phenomenal track record. What he did at Stanford and in San Fran was excellent. He arguably should have won the sb but for the no call on pretty obvious PI.
There are like 253 DI teams, 128 of them in FBS. A round-robin season isn't feasible. Conferences create annual rivalries, which builds familiarity and fan popularity. They limit travel distance (which is important to fans even if not to major team budgets). And they offer consolation prizes to contest for (conference titles, Wagon Wheel/Playtpus Trophy/Old Oaken Bucket nonsense, etc).Right, but otherwise why have conferences?
Are you being dense on purpose? The comparison you're making would require analyzing the depth chart from pre-Harbaugh. GJGE.Please, stop. We can all look at the depth chart and see you're starting _one_ underclassmen. Empty cupboard indeed.
Words hurt.I can't believe you get to start next year's thread with more of your bathroom humor.
Almost as upsetting as the loss itself.
Also, it's funny how Wormley diving at Barrett's knees on the Peppers interception hasn't been brought up. Although I suppose since Peppers interceptions are about as common as Halley's Comet, everyone was just in a state of shock.
Wormley was being blocked. The rule applies to a defender who is "rushing unabated"
He had already shed his block.
Lol, no, I think you've been cucked enough for one night. Simple math, and a roster with 40 upperclassmen in the two deep tells me nothing approaching a rebuild ever happened. The comparison you're making would require analyzing the depth chart from pre-Harbaugh. GJGE.

538 has Ohio State as 90 percent likely to be in the playoff currently, and their season is over so no chance of them losing. I couldn't find a scenario that takes them below 79 percent, maybe you can do better:This thread is fantastic, and a great reminder of why most of us hate both schools.
I am looking forward to a Bama, Clemson, Washington, and Penn State or Wisconsin final 4. A pox on both your houses.
How hilarious would it be if "the game" (and what's with osu fans putting a stupid article in front of everything?) didn't mean shit in the end?
Penn State lost to Pitt OOC. Ohio State dominated Oklahoma on the road. Penn State lost to Michigan by 39! Ohio State beat Michigan. Penn State beat Iowa, Minnesota and Purdue from the other division. Ohio State won at Wisconsin and beat Nebraska and Northwestern.Nifty graphic. But that seems ridiculous that if Clem and UW win their conf champs that the B1G champ gets kept out by tOSU. Especially if that champ was a team that beat tOSU.
Not seeing it. PSU could beat Wisconsin 900-0 and I still don't see the committee selecting them over OSU. This is college football, where rationalizing is king. They're not letting OSU miss the playoff. If Penn State wins next week, I think one-loss tOSU finishes behind two-loss conference champion PSU that beat tOSU head-to-head, and I don't see the Committee pushing out a one-loss conference champion like Clemson or Washington to make room for one-loss non-champion tOSU.
Pitt beat Clemson in Death Valley. Penn State smashed MSU at home while OSU needed a missed 2-pt conversion to beat that 3-win team on their field. What does all this rationalizing - what you wrote, what I wrote, and all the other things the teams did this year - mean? Who the hell knows. I know PSU beat OSU and won their division. They could beat UW next week and it won't matter - OSU will be "selected" over them.Penn State lost to Pitt OOC. Ohio State dominated Oklahoma on the road. Penn State lost to Michigan by 39! Ohio State beat Michigan. Penn State beat Iowa, Minnesota and Purdue from the other division. Ohio State won at Wisconsin and beat Nebraska and Northwestern.
Even with a hypothetical win over Wisconsin, a conference title and a head-to-head win, Penn State just doesn't stack up. Ohio State has three top-10 wins, two on the road and one in dominant fashion with only one loss. It's hardly ridiculous that they'd make it in over Penn State.
Pitt lost to UNC and got blown out by Miami. They're a decent team but a non-contender. Ohio State also dominated Indiana while Penn State needed a late comeback to beat them.Pitt beat Clemson in Death Valley. I'm not really mad about that particular scenario but that the scenario exists at all. Having a system that doesn't emphasize a spirit of competition that we accept and expect in all other sports makes for great entertainment and debate, but it leaves a lot to be desired where fairness and competition are concerned. The system sucks. Isn't this obvious?
It most certainly "is (not) what it is." There's nothing concrete and standard in the CFB system that we can all agree and accept as a fair judge of an overall champion. It is what you decide it is for you, what I decide it is for me, and what someone else decides it is for them. To put it eloquently, that's fucked up in a competitive sport.Pitt lost to UNC and got blown out by Miami. They're a decent team but a non-contender. Ohio State also dominated Indiana while Penn State needed a late comeback to beat them.
The system is certainly imperfect, but it is what it is. If Penn State wanted to be in the playoff, they shouldn't have lost to Pitt or gotten absolutely smoked by Michigan. Ohio State isn't #2 because there's no way the committee will let them miss the playoffs. They're #2 because they have the second-best resume and that will still be true after next week.
Alabama didn't even win their division either in 2011 and still made the title game when there were only two teams because the polls and computers realized they were one of the two best teams. I'd say they were proven right. There's no reason a similar situation can't exist here.
Born in Ohio, on mother's side go back to Ohio through great-great grandparents. Spent entire childhood and early adulthood receiving various Ohio State items for Christmas and birthday. Have father who, because he attended Ohio University, is convinced that tOSU is a rival and doesn't root for them, but still hates Michigan (grew up in Youngstown, but born in New England to a Boston Irish family). Went to college at a school that won 4 games in the 5 seasons I was there. Classic instance of "High school students are idiots", I was seriously crestfallen when I realized that going to the games on saturday wasnt a big deal at the University I attended. I just assumed that every University in the US packed the house every Saturday. Me and one other kid from the Athens, GA area would go to about half the games just the two of us and be miserable.Yammer - sorry if this was asked and answered but I'm too lazy to go searching through this sewer of a thread. What is your connection to that dumpy shithole in Columbus? You seem too quick witted to have gone there as a student.
When people say "the system is broken" about CFB i always chuckle a little and ask "since the start of the BCS, in what year was the wrong team crowned champ?"It most certainly "is (not) what it is." There's nothing concrete and standard in the CFB system that we can all agree and accept as a fair judge of an overall champion. It is what you decide it is for you, what I decide it is for me, and what someone else decides it is for them. To put it eloquently, that's fucked up in a competitive sport.
About as hilarious as a University whose fans went bananas with applause when a picture of a guy who enabled child molestation was put up on the scoreboard making the playoffs? I mean, at least that much, right???This thread is fantastic, and a great reminder of why most of us hate both schools.
I am looking forward to a Bama, Clemson, Washington, and Penn State or Wisconsin final 4. A pox on both your houses.
How hilarious would it be if "the game" (and what's with osu fans putting a stupid article in front of everything?) didn't mean shit in the end?
Playing freshmen against Indiana and Western Michigan is a lot different than them being high on the depth chart. The hypothesis that Harbaugh did this magical rebuild is nonsense. He knew that he could win in year 1 or he wouldn't have come. Now that he sees that he may not be able to win in the future let's see what happens.Harbaugh played like 20 freshmen this year. Hoke recruited decently but developed players very poorly. Far cry from taking over an OSU team a year removed from tattoo tressel
Penn State's entire candidacy rests on one game, something that only even came into play because Iowa upset Michigan. Even with a win over a team at a neutral site that Ohio State beat on the road, what's your argument that their overall body of work is more impressive? It most certainly "is (not) what it is." There's nothing concrete and standard in the CFB system that we can all agree and accept as a fair judge of an overall champion. It is what you decide it is for you, what I decide it is for me, and what someone else decides it is for them. To put it eloquently, that's fucked up in a competitive sport.
2003 is the only one I can think of. It wouldn't have been easy for USC to beat LSU in New Orleans, but given they were in the midst of a near three-year winning streak with a lot of the same players I'd say they would've had a decent shot. When people say "the system is broken" about CFB i always chuckle a little and ask "since the start of the BCS, in what year was the wrong team crowned champ?"
The single worst way to choose a champion is single elimination playoffs, and yet everyone loves the NFL.
Right. So in the 15 years we have had the system, we have two instances where, if you squint real hard, you can say that a different team MIGHT have been better than the two selected. To me, that does not reflect a system that is broken.2003 is the only one I can think of. It wouldn't have been easy for USC to beat LSU in New Orleans, but given they were in the midst of a near three-year winning streak with a lot of the same players I'd say they would've had a decent shot.
You can make an argument that Miami should've made it over Florida State in 2000 (especially given what happened the next two years), but it's tough to say undefeated Oklahoma was a wrong champion.
Penn St. is NOT getting in if Clemson wins the ACC. Not.Gonna.Happen.Ohio State was #2 coming into the week - they're not going to fall out after beating Michigan because Penn State beat Michigan State and Wisconsin. Yeah, I was just speculating since Clemson's win over Louisville keeps looking less impressive but they're definitely in with a win. Shit, I might take Colorado over Penn State for the last spot if they both win - they played Michigan a hell of a lot closer and might have had a shot if Liufau didn't get hurt, although then it would be tough to put them in over Michigan.Penn St. is NOT getting in if Clemson wins the ACC. Not.Gonna.Happen.
Penn State needs a really convincing win over Wisconsin and then some help (e.g., Colorado beats Washington) in order to sniff the playoffs. Frankly, I don’t see it, but anything can and will happen.Yeah, I was just speculating since Clemson's win over Louisville keeps looking less impressive but they're definitely in with a win. Happy Holidays asshole. No, I just know what a zoo is.
Suck my balls.
Now you're looking at a War on Christmas argument for using "Happy Holidays."Happy Holidays asshole.

Never try to fight a two-front war, son.

College football is much better than the NFL, it really is. And I adore the NFL. No teams run overly complicated systems and elaborate packages, it is all about sound fundamental football and strategy.I don't watch CFB.
At all.
In fact, this was probably only the second CFB I watched all the way through (UFC/Texas Rose Bowl being the other).
I wanted to root for Mich. Harbaugh and Yammer have pulled me slightly towards tOSU. And if all game threads are like this, I may need to dedicate more Saturdays to CFB.
It is a pretty cool coincidence that your mother was the 54th "Ma" I banged in 2016. Maybe that's just me, but what are the odds?Much like Hitlers invasion of Russia, I'm knee deep in it now.
Seasons Greetings?
Feliz Navidad?
Happy Kwanzaa?
Happy Hanukkah?
Happy Festivus?
That should do it, plus that ballbag comes from a fan base that booed Santa Claus, so fuck him and the reindeer he rode in on.
This is the most loserist post I've ever read. He 'basically' beat Urban yesterday, except he didn't. He effectively cost his team the game with his cry baby tactics on the sideline. There was some talent, true, but he had to un-Hoke the team, no easy task. He also still hasn't had his "Andrew luck" yet or a good o line. In time he'll have both. Plenty of wins in the future, including the occasional win vs OSU. Hell, he basically beat urban yesterday as a 5 pt dog. Reminds me, do you think the refs sell their Gold Pants or do they keep them as a reminder of a job well done?
Enjoyed your post earlier about our background. I spent just two years at Michigan (grad school), but that was enough. The big ten sports scene is fantastic, and the Mich-Ohio rivalry takes me back to early 2000s Sox-Yankees. I also married into a PSU family and get to Beaver Stadium once a year. Wish we had more major D1 college football fans on sosh.
My mother is 82 and had a histerectamy back when the best part of you ran down your fathers leg.It is a pretty cool coincidence that your mother was the 54th "Ma" I banged in 2016. Maybe that's just me, but what are the odds?
