Chriss can really jump. Bender is a project.
How will be know going up against 3's from the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Austin Toros?Silver lining, I think Jaylen will hold his own on the defensive end with NBA ready players, not summer league players, better than the rest of the draft picks.
Is this sarcasm or do you really think they will have Jaylen in The D-League for most of the year? How will be know going up against 3's from the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Austin Toros?
He actually reminds me of a more Versatile Marcus Smart with a higher ceiling on the offensive side.Couldn't score again but Brown was really good on D tonight and blew by his man several times. Needs refinement for sure.
Brown hasn't really had much time to learn at the NBA level. They throw these teams together a few weeks after the draft. I'd like him to get some real time with the staff before we start to label guys as a bust.Is this sarcasm or do you really think they will have Jaylen in The D-League for most of the year?
I don't see him in the rotation anytime soon.....the kid is a raw 19 years old. I expect him to play some in Maine but not most of the year.Is this sarcasm or do you really think they will have Jaylen in The D-League for most of the year?
If they agree he's a strong defender at the 3, then I think he'll end up in the rotation. Both as a backup to Crowder, and playing alongside him when Crowder is playing PF. Crowder was as effective, or more effective at the 4, so the ability to move him there without sacrificing too much wing defense would be useful.I'm not sure if Brown will go to the D-League. It is unusual for a top pick to come into a team this good so maybe. On the other hand his defense has looked surprisingly good so far in summer league, so he may have a bench role where he's not asked to do much on offense.
Yabu seems readier than JB to my untutored eye.
I think the forums having problems, I double posted multiple times yesterday and have seen a lot of double postsDoble observación.
The problem here is that he would be one of the 5 on the unit to develop general order which he doesn't seem to yet have the instincts to do. Jerebko is a much better second unit fit if the one skill Brown provides is defense since few second unit opponents require a defensive stopper to slow them down. If Brown truly was that guy he'd actually be a better fit for the starting lineup and I certainly don't see that happening right now.I can't believe the D-League hasn't changed its name yet. From a branding perspective it is just brutal. Even now my brain just defaults to "What, he can't even make the B or C-League?"
The Celtics are so light on wings, I think JB has a chance to stick if he continues to show well defensively in training camp/preseason. Eager to see him on the floor with some NBA spacing and general order.
This is about what I'm expecting as injuries and development over the course of the season should have Brown seeing some second unit minutes post-ASG.I will bet anyone any amount of money that Brown finishes the year playing at least 10 mpg.
Maybe I'm being unrealistic but I'm hoping he makes an impact sooner. Not much there at the moment at backup wing aside from Jerebko and he's more of a 3/4.This is about what I'm expecting as injuries and development over the course of the season should have Brown seeing some second unit minutes post-ASG.
Yes that's true, my impressions are based more on the offensive side and I have seen Yabu get schooled a couple of times on defense. He just seems to have better composure, less of a wild man out there.I'm also not a great judge but I think you're paying more attention to the offensive end. Yabu looks a lot better on offense but Brown looks a lot better on D (at least when defending the ball). I don't know the defensive scheme and so many dudes look like they are blowing assignments it's hard to tell what's what off the ball.
That's the thing, if Jerebko is your backup 3 then Jaylen has to take those minutes from him. Right now Jerebko is the more trusted and frankly much better NBA player from what I see and that was before SL began. This is also assuming there will not be further additions to the team which I expect also.Maybe I'm being unrealistic but I'm hoping he makes an impact sooner. Depending on lineups, I'm hoping we see some Jerebko at the 4 and Brown at the 3. I have visions of a Rozier/Smart/Brown/Jerebko lineup creating havoc against other teams' 2nd units. That's the thing, if Jerebko is your backup 3 then Jaylen has to take those minutes from him. It'll be like the NBA's wildcat offense. No one will ever see it coming.Assuming the 5th guy is Olynyk, that would have to be one of the most inverted lineups I've seen. The best 3pt shooter is the 4, followed by the 5. And the best defender down low is a 6'3" combo guard.
My brain hurts.
While there is still the possibility of a significant move this offseason, I would think that Jerebko is currently slotted as a backup 4. There would seem to be an opportunity for one of the young wings to work his way into the rotation, and Brown would seem to have the inside track not only for his draft pedigree which is a consideration but also because of his potential ability to defend the position. That's the thing, if Jerebko is your backup 3 then Jaylen has to take those minutes from him. They just interviewed Brad, who praised his passing and agility (for one his size), and said that a decision about whether he goes back to Europe has not yet been made. For a "Wait, who?" pick, Yabusele is killing it.
It's a good sign that things are slowing down for him after just a few games. Will be a season long process like Rozier, but good stuff today.Brown looks more in control this game. He's still moving at a million miles an hour, and is a little over aggressive, but this is his best game.
