Nope. First down at the spot of the recovery. You can't advance a muffed punt.so that's a touchdown...sigh
But you can move on it like a bitch. Can't advance a muff, so no TD.
I thought the same thing, but Denvers offense is putrid.Denver is the luckiest fucking team in the NFL. Their opponents literally shit on themselves week in and week out. San Diego has absolutely dominated this half, and yet, it's about to be 10-7 when Denver punches this in. Unreal. Just get the fuck out of the way you idiot.
Or 2015-16...I thought the same thing, but Denvers offense is putrid.
Offensive is more like it.
This team will go as far as their defense carries them, a la the 1999 Ravens.
I think it was 1999; whatever year their offense sucked and the defense was other worldly and they beat a putrid Giants team in the Super Bowl.
Rivers is great. I started to appreciate him after one of the AFCCG ('07?) when he played hurt. He's got big balls and a funky throwing action, but he's usually fun to watch. Is it wrong I'm starting to like Rivers?
Technically, the receving team never has possession on a muff, making it akin to an onsides kick. What is the theory behind not allowing the recovering team to advance a muffed punt? I can't think of a safety reason, because why is a punt block allowed to be returned? Just seems an odd quirk to the rules.

Last year, they had the worst quarterback in the NFL. Their defense, and their opponents literally crapping themselves down the stretch of game after game got them to the playoffs. The Patriots crapping themselves down the stretch of the regular season gave them home field, and Denver's defense did the rest. Same story through 5 games this year.I thought the same thing, but Denvers offense is putrid.

Wait, an onside kick can't be caught and advanced by the kicking team? I don't think I knew that. I know I've seen teams kick onside kicks, recover the kick on a bounce and bust through the line and score a td, but maybe that was in a college game.Technically, the receving team never has possession on a muff, making it akin to an onsides kick.
Ball is dead on an onsides kick recovered by the kicking team, unless receiving team fumbes it.Wait, an onside kick can't be caught and advanced by the kicking team? I don't think I knew that. I believe the theory has something to do with it being a fourth down play where the other team did not possess the ball. It never changed possession, so if you recover it is simply a way to achieve the first down. And so that's just the rule. It's this weird mix between a play where the kicking team's possession has ended but the receiving team's has not begun. I know that's not a satisfactory answer but in it's messed up way, that is the rationale I think. What is the theory behind not allowing the recovering team to advance a muffed punt? Maybe they would want to trade for Cyrus the VirusAnd Benjamin no longer returning punts. Waaa wooo
It was bad enough they lost to the Jets, who were a decent team, but the loss to Miami was pathetic; a team that had their off season flights booked and their bags packed.Last year, they had the worst quarterback in the NFL. He'll no. I've been a big fan since the 07 AFCCG game, when he had one knee hanging by a thread while LT was moping on the sidelines. Is it wrong I'm starting to like Rivers?
Yeah for all the drama about him signing he looks like the real deal huh? I don't know that much about the award race, but he looks like a strong pick for RDPOY.Man, that play by Bosa was like a human three cone drill.
Of course it's worse.I'm not sure Denver's QB situation isn't worse than last year.
They looked a lot better than this, especially on D.How is Denver 4-1?
Yeah, perfect technique on that tackle.Whiff by Ward. LOLOLOLOL
GJGE
This D, which will hold them to 3 here. How is Denver 4-1?
That's why he always launches helmet first, he's terrible at wrap up tackles.Jesus Ward, WTF was that tackle attempt?
They looked good against a struggling Carolina team, bad Indy, bad TB, and struggling Cincy. They got torched by Atlanta. They're a good team, but getting exposed last 2 games a bit. They looked a lot better than this, especially on D.
How about the Eagles loss at home immediately after the Broncos loss? The Patriots should have destroyed that team in that situation, and instead, the Patriots fell asleep for a 20 minute stretch at the end of the 2nd quarter and the start of the fourth quarter and gave up a blocked punt touchdown (with 8 seconds left in the half), a 99 yard interception return touchdown, a punt return touchdown, and an offensive touchdown for the Eagles, turning a 14-7 lead into a 35-14 deficit in a blink. That game was the turning point in the season, IMO. They win that game, and the Jets and Dolphins games would have meant a whole lot less.It was bad enough they lost to the Jets, who were a decent team, but the loss to Miami was pathetic; a team that had their off season flights booked and their bags packed.
Most of the Miami players had their street clothes on under their uniforms to save time after the game was over.
Talk about a blown opportunity.
And Kubiak threw Manning out there in the last game vs San Diego out of desperation and it paid off.
The Pats should really have success against these LBs and safeties. Can't wait till that game. Time to exercise some demons up there. This D, which will hold them to 3 here.
