Thank god Mike Tomlin isn't our OC.Most conventional way would be a TD, 3 FG and a safety. But seems kind of unlikely you would get that particular combo in the 1st half of this game.
Pats going for 2 on every score against a terrible red zone D would be an interesting gamble to put extra pressure on both sides of the ball for ATL.
Fumbles often happen when it's raining. Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions
I keep my visions to myself

Who wants to wrap around your dreams and...
Have you any dreams you'ld like to sell?
With a good game Sunday, he could jump from seventh to second on this list, which is pretty cool.Wide receiver Julian Edelman is his go-to target, and he has 84 career playoff receptions (which extends his own Patriots record), putting him seventh on the all-time NFL list. Only Jerry Rice (151), Reggie Wayne (93), Wes Welker (88), Hines Ward (88), Michael Irvin (87) and Andre Reed (85) have more.
I bet the soundtrack was pretty kickin'.Guys, it was my dream. Go get your own.
I'm pissed I woke up before the halftime show!I bet the soundtrack was pretty kickin'.
You could've foreseen Gaga's hair color, before Prince unzipped his Gaga suit and did a mash up of Pussy Control Monster.I'm pissed I woke up before the halftime show!
That had the potential to be fucking strange.

Once a Colt, always a Colt. Used to bother me but now I can't get enough of this.15 years later, and he's so salty. It's hard to believe he's so uneducated about SpyGate and the alleged walkthrough taping. But maybe it isn't, old beliefs being hard to change and all that.
This taping thing has stuck like superglue. GJGE, John. I hear it all the time here in NYC.F'ing Tomase
I'm irrationally upset any time I turn on WEEI and he's filling in for someone or it's his weekend show. Someday when I have the time I want to call in with a legit topic to get through the screenings and then just get on live air and call him out. How he has a job in this business and this town befuddles me.F'ing Tomase
All of the above, especially the politics and personal life. This is the most disconnected I've felt to any Patriots SB run up. Not sure if it's work schedule, personal life crap, politics, or what, but I keep forgetting the game is 3 days away.
Yeah, that's not gonna happen. BB is too smart of a coach to do that. Miss 1 or 2 of those conversions, and you end up chasing points the entire game.Pats going for 2 on every score against a terrible red zone D would be an interesting gamble to put extra pressure on both sides of the ball for ATL.
I agree that it isn't going to happen, but not because BB is "too smart." There's certainly a point where a team with a big enough edge in converting vs defending the 2 point try would be mathematically correct to use it as a strategy. And using it as a surprise in a huge game, when the other team doesn't have a chance to prepare, would increase the edge.Yeah, that's not gonna happen. BB is too smart of a coach to do that. I assume this is related to his shout out to his Mom post-AFCCG. What's the story? Is she ill?Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 19m19 minutes ago
#Patriots QB Tom Brady says at his press conference that he's still hopeful that his mom will be there but isn't sure. Good sign.
ApparentlyI assume this is related to his shout out to his Mom post-AFCCG. What's the story? Is she ill?
Yeah, of course he could play the odds. Which is exactly what I think he does all the time anyway.I agree that it isn't going to happen, but not because BB is "too smart." There's certainly a point where a team with a big enough edge in converting vs defending the 2 point try would be mathematically correct to use it as a strategy. And using it as a surprise in a huge game, when the other team doesn't have a chance to prepare, would increase the edge.
The fact that it hasn't been tried is an indication that nobody thinks they have a big enough edge, and/or the variance over the short term isn't worth it. But if, say, BB thought he had an absurd edge in expected points on the 2pt try (like 90 percent conversion for us vs 20 percent for them), and expected a lot of TDs on both sides, I could totally see him playing the percentages and trying it.
I was like that for much of the season. Changed jobs, moved to another state, had a shit ton of stuff to get in order, so I just sat down to watch the games, basically, without really experiencing the season. It's been a couple of weeks now since I've gotten back into a routine, and I can barely go 20 minutes without the game popping back into my mind. The wait has been excruciating, which is weird considering this is the Super Bowl I'd be less devastated if they were to lose in.This is the most disconnected I've felt to any Patriots SB run up. Not sure if it's work schedule, personal life crap, politics, or what, but I keep forgetting the game is 3 days away.

“I tell people all the time, if Tom Brady would just start out every interview saying, ‘I wanna thank the Oakland Raiders,’ I’d be happy and I’d let it go,” wide receiver Tim Brown said in an NFL Network interview. “But until that day happens, I’m not gonna let it go.”

Rolo Tomase?
Come for the sports, stay for the combo gags.He got away with it.
The second bolded part kind of suggests that you don't understand what the first bolded part means. But whatever.Yeah, of course he could play the odds. Which is exactly what I think he does all the time anyway.
I mean this...an extra point has a much higher success rate than a 2 point try. Which is why I think that unless the Pats need the 2 point conversion late in the game, he kicks the extra point every time, regardless of how good or bad the Falcons might be defending the 2 pointer.
It's the Sex Panther of football analysis. The second bolded part kind of suggests that you don't understand what the first bolded part means. But whatever.
I don't know what this is, but when somebody responds to your post with "yeah yeah I get it. Now here's a sentence that indicates I clearly don't get it!"... whaddya want. It's the Sex Panther of football analysis.
It means that 60% of the time, it works every time.I don't know what this is, but when somebody responds to your post with "yeah yeah I get it. Now here's a sentence that indicates I clearly don't get it!"... whaddya want.
Oh, man. That's amazing, but this is a definite case of "he's an asshole, but he's ours."
People that would watch that and say "asshole" or "cheater" are really fucking joyless.he first thing I thought was not "asshole" but rather a large eye roll at how many millions of Patriot haters are going to chalk this up as just another way the Patriots cheat.......I found it pretty funny though.
I mean, all he did was a hard count in a neutral stadium, and the other guy jumped offsides.People that would watch that and say "asshole" or "cheater" are really fucking joyless.
I prank called Marshall Faulk once. That's all I got.“@brianmacp: Marshall Faulk on the way the Patriots use their running backs: ”It’s awful. You never know when you’re going to play. You have no idea.“”

Seriously. Freeney was laughing, it was a joke. Christ.People that would watch that and say "asshole" or "cheater" are really fucking joyless.
I've seen him then go on the NFL network and be fairly complementary to the Patriots. It's a weird existence some of these goofs live. Troll here, give straightforward option/analysis there. I guess you just can't be reasonable and consistent, and hope to get any notice in that business anymore. Put me in the camp of thoroughly enjoying the salty goodness of their tears now.It must be that time of year again...
