Who are the's NYG's "veteran leaders" who, at least in theory, help reign in or re-focus players like Beckham? Actual question, as I'm not too attuned to NFC teams. Guys like JPP, DRC, ....?

I don't think JPP likes to take a hand in leadership.

Two thumbs up. There's a Rick Allen/Def Leppard joke in here somewhere to circle this back to the drummer thing, but I can't work a decent one out. I'm stumped.
I'm pretty sure this is a really funny post, but I just can't put my finger on why.

Nobody respects Eli Manning.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. --€” Here is where the Giants are with Odell Beckham, Jr. --€” another meltdown at Green Bay on Sunday night and he will be benched. And depending on the severity of it, he could be suspended by the team for at least one game, maybe two.

Two different Giants coaches told me this on Wednesday. This has been the straight talk, the real talk with Beckham. They do not expect, however, that it will come to this. They think he gets it. They think the worst of his in-game tantrums are over.

For the acoustic instrument minded: What is the definition of Perfect Pitch?

When someone grabs an accordian, throws it, and it hits a banjo.
Banjo player left his banjo overnight in a parked car. Next morning, the car window is smashed and there are two banjos inside.

OBJ's performance is moderately down this year (about 7 receptions for 100 yards a game -> 5.5/75) - which is almost entirely a product of the Minnesota game (3 for 23) - who according to Football Outsiders have the 4th best pass defense (and 3rd best overall defense) in the league right now - so he's pretty much within the error bars of his expected performance.

And even with that down performance, he still has more receptions and yards than Shephard and Cruz, despite being covered by better corners.

Rather than dealing with the myriad real problems they have, they're focusing on publicly chastising their most productive receiver.

Kind of hard to ignore the ridiculous outbursts he is having early on this year. At some point, you have to reel your players in regardless if they are your most productive or not.

Blaming the Giants or the refs in this case is reminiscent of all of the chastising of the NFL in BBTL regarding its disciplining of Josh Gordon in the enforcement of stupid rules against weed. Dude has a bigger problem.

A good coach / org would be sure he keeps it in line. A good coach would also be sure that whatever they warned him about didn't get out to the press.

Benching him seems like a good way to lose a bunch of games and have him bolt to another team (and likely enjoy success there) as soon as he can.

Yeah, and his number through 4 games last year and 4 games this year are pretty similar.

There's an issue here in that corners have learned they can get under his skin and he's prone to do something dumb in response, but its worth about 10% of the ink that its gotten and he's still been a productive player.

If he busts out a couple of turntables and a mic and starts DJing, does that make him Odelay Beck-ham, Jr?

If he keeps this up what're the odds the Giants just cut him and say Farewell Beckham Jr?

If he washes out of the NFL and partners with a computing company to study colony collapse disorder through miniaturized video technology, you might be able to buy A Dell BeeCam Junior.

Wide receivers are notorious divas, and rumor has it he's got a secret nerd side.

I suppose that makes him Adele Trekem Jr.
