Then his reps are smart, and so is he on some level. The guy blew off meetings when he was on a tour to take the sting out of the weed use. What are you going to do? Baby sitters are us.Ed Hillel said:LOL:

How can you guys possibly know that?

Fans put wayyyyyyyy too much emphasis on the importance of the draft. We are well past the point where all of these picks became 50/50 propositions. The odds of the guys getting drafted now having solid NFL careers is small and quickly getting smaller with each passing pick.tims4wins said:You are right we don't. You know, this should inspire hope. Eventually, one of these Who-the-Fuck-Is-That-All-Stars will turn into an above average starter out of statistical luck, if nothing else.( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:Fans put wayyyyyyyy too much emphasis on the importance of the draft. What about Russell Wilson?

So you're saying they use common sense and don't just auto-draft off a list.ElcaballitoMVP said:
I'd quote DC's post, but didn't see it on the page.
But just an idea of why the Pats trade back and don't just go down their list. It could be because they have an idea of what other teams are going to do and move down to a range where they feel comfortable they can still get their player, while picking up additional assets. It all comes down to value. If they get enough of it back, they might be willing to miss a player they like that's at the top of their board or hope that he falls to them later in the draft.
I wouldn't say well past the point of 50/50. IIRC there was a recent study that said 2nd round picks had a 50% chance of being a starter after 4 years.( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:Fans put wayyyyyyyy too much emphasis on the importance of the draft. Human beings have a compulsion to categorize things. The NFL draft is contest, of sorts, in how well you identify and categorize things, in this case people.( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:So you're saying they use common sense and don't just auto-draft off a list.
It isn't that hard to figure out how they think about the draft. This isn't rocket science.
The draft is fun and everyone loves shiny things and their binkies. It's strange I love watching the draft but I think it's also terribly overrated.
There may be something on Inside the Pylon on this soon.tims4wins said:I wouldn't say well past the point of 50/50. IIRC there was a recent study that said 2nd round picks had a 50% chance of being a starter after 4 years.

Again I am a BB fanboy. Like / understand 90% of what he does in draft. But his secondary drafting has been questionable. Agree?PedroKsBambino said:
Against what standard, though? The net of his selections is the best run in the history (or at least the modern history) of the NFL. Would you really advocate changing the approach overall?
