Amazing -- make or miss league.

A damn shame that we'll have to wait till Warriors/Winner of this series to approach this caliber of series.

What is Reggie talking about?  Jordan won't touch the ball unless it's for a dunk.

Holy shit what a call by the refs to stop the clock there.  Clippers had it inbounded to CP3.

Shouldn't matter since they have 3 elite FT shooters but damn it's a killer if somehow the Spurs force it away from CP3, Redick or Crawford.

When your mind gets twisted into a pretzel on national TV, and Reggie Miller has to be the voice of reason…. that's about as embarrassing as it gets.

I still don't think Harlan has any idea what happened on that offensive interference or why the basket was disallowed.

A championship level win.  Warriors are lucky the West snow globe didn't shake out where they'd have to go through both San Antonio and LA.

Not sure that was luck.  Golden State had a brilliant stretch run.  Furthermore,  this year's Clippers have a hard time keeping up with the Warriors because Bogut and Green can slow Griffin, Thompson/Iguodala et al give CP3 trouble and Reddick is a liability versus either Thompson or Curry.  Based on what I've seen, I think Golden State would have to play their worst basketball of the season to lose a seven game series to either of these two teams though I think the Spurs would give them a good fight.

He finally said exactly what Reggie said, Diaw touched it first so it didn't matter who
touched it second. I was impressed with Reggie's quick, correct call, but he did play in the league for, what, 17 years?

Luck in the sense that 2-6 minus Portland was a toss up.  Could have ended up with the Clippers in round 2, Spurs in round 3 and Cavs in the Finals.  I completely agree, it's the Warriors title to lose, they are head and shoulders above the rest of the league. But that's a hell of a trio to go through.

That's a fair point.  And while I think the Warriors are very good, I think that Memphis or San Antonio (if they win) can still derail them.

That said, with Love's injury, whomever comes out of the west really does have a easier path to the championship.  The Cavs, Bulls and Wizards are all good teams (I don't buy the Hawks after watching them this round) but I would take Memphis, San Antonio or Golden State over any of those teams in a seven game series.

Memphis is probably off this list without a miraculous recovery from Conley (not just playing, but back to himself).

I think the Clippers have shown themselves a better team if (big if) they don't self-destruct. After their cool in game 6, I'll say they win by 5 tonight at home.

Traffic on the 110 and 10 is going to be a nightmare out of staples. Everyone will be hoping for a blowout so they can leave early for the fight

If the Clippers wanted to reward their fans, they should simply buy the fight and show it on the jumbotron.  I think the Clips win tonight in a very close contest.   Duncan looks great but Parker and Ginobli are finally starting to look mortal.

This is the first game of the series I'm not putting down money for. I don't know what'll happen. My head says Clippers. My gut says Spurs. And I want the Spurs to win because the Clippers are a fucking joyless team with nouveau Laker/nouveau Boston fans. But I think Paul goes nuclear and I don't know if the Spurs have anyone to answer.

Regardless, this had better not be the last game for Tim Duncan.

Joyless? The Spurs might be the most joyless team in the history of the league.

That would be too cost prohibitive. The cost for a commercial venue to purchase the fight is based on the facilities maximum occupancy per their fire code. For a fight like this you're talking like $5k for a 100-person bar, now multiply this out to 18,000 or whatever. The Clippers would be in the hook for a guesstimate of around $1m to show the fight.

There are several bars showing it in DTLA.

They don't talk much and they have a brilliant system. They play the most beautiful basketball I've ever seen in my life. If you think that's joyless...

If the Spurs keep any sort of lead into the second, the Clips are in trouble. As soon as they start making a run, Pop will start hack-a and cool them off.

Paul's walking bowlegged. I want the Spurs to win but I hope he's okay.

Yeah, same boat. I want to see a great game and Crawford throwing up shots for the next three Q's is not my idea of great.

I think the Spurs win this. Paul's broken, and bad. Every screen is walloping him and he can't cut.

This is gonna come down to Parker hitting that inconsistent jumper. Tiago, Duncan, and Boris need to be rocking Paul with a pick every possession and springing him free.

NateRob made a good point. Press CP3 until he falls over.

This game being a first round matchup is - the NBA is better now than at any other time.

Yeah, I remember the mid 80s but not well so I can't compare to that. This is the best I have seen.  Without expansion it should continue to get better.

also lol at Doc crying and CP3 is awesome

This Clippers team is so damn unlikeable. Must have been my Celtic covered glasses that caused me to never notice how much of a whiner Doc is.

Kawhi throwing up a stinker tonight.  Weird handling by Pop too benching him 2 minutes into the 3rd.

Kawhi is awesome, obviously. But, his great defense is made for lock down, stay with a guy, don't switch D. Sometimes, and it's happening tonight, when the offense dictates multiple switches in one play, he makes poor decisions. It's not that he can't guard the guy he's now on, but he hesitates and the speed of the Clippers take advantage of that. I know he's DPOY, and universally heralded on D, but I swear I see this on multiple occasions.

So, when the Spurs have to max out Kawhi; can the Celtics swoop in and sign a Danny Green?
