Going back to the Diaz thing, I think he thought Nunez was offsides. The far defender was playing him on but Diaz just expected Nunez to be offside because, you know, history.

He nakes the difficult look easy and the easy impossible....Nunez
The perfect encapsulation. That was a perfect first touch and a shot straight at the keeper. LOL

Two 19 year olds coming on. Goddamn, I'm old.

Brennan Johnson was real awful for his entire run today, but was on the end of that beautiful action.

Pretty sure he thought the goal was going to get ruled out for offsides, because that was as subdued of a celebration of a winner as you'll see.

We’ve started taking it for granted but Quansah was just so calm and so good again today.
I’m not sure about this. He gaffed twice early in the second half and nearly gifted a pair of not for awful finishing coupled with a Kelleher stop.

He gave up that one obvious chance but also won the most duels and nearly scored while shifting to a makeshift back 3. For a 21 year old guy no one even expected to give senior minutes this year, it’s pretty impressive. It’s so much better than Nat Phillips being back there.

Thanks for this. I do recall hearing about the private equity investment and the it was unpopular. I didn’t connect the dots with the tennis ball protests.
I think it kinda started with whatever was available to throw, and then gradually tennis balls became the projectile of choice.

And as soon as I type that, in first half stoppage time, Hudson Odoi with a beauty from just outside the box.
Hell of a game here- but not great for Howe that he’s in these barn burners with sides fighting to stay up?

Tuechel has to be on the hot seat if Bayern drop this game. Leverkusen are just way sharper, way more creative and putting all the pressure on Bayern.

Yeah--this is his role now--come on late and just run. He doesn't have time to grow into the game when you're an impact sub, but he did just enough today.

Also, annoucers when Brighton plays out from the back: "Just daring football, passing it around. One twos everywhere."

Same guy when Spurs do it: "Spurs living so dangerously here, kicking it around."

Bayern completely undone out of the back, Grimaldo makes it 2-0 Leverkusen.

That’s basically that in Madrid. 3-0.

Bellingham has two goals but this was a master class by Vini.

Did you watch the Sporting-Oviedo match? It was not in ESPN+, so I didn’t see it. The final score and stats suggest it was a tight match. Did Oviedo come close to scoring at all?

Leverkusen smoke Bayern 3-0 to go five points clear at the top of the Bundesliga. And the score was entirely justified, Leverkusen outclassed them at every level.

No I’m pretty limited to ESPN+. The La Liga weekday show on ESPN+ usually has most of the La Liga Hypermotion highlights on their Tuesday (???) show. Otherwise the Spanish Football Podcast will often have a quick update as one of the main contributors is a huge Real Oviedo fan. Monday pods are free if you can find it.

As the final commercial lead-in to the West Ham/Arsenal game NBC told me to tune in NEXT SUNDAY for the London derby of West Ham/Arsenal.

So, in today's Premiere League a player can run a deliberate pick on the keeper? The arsenal player never looked at the ball, he just threw a shoulder into the keeper when he tried to come out and play the ball.
