La Liga have amazingly, bizarrely screwed up scheduling. With TEN time slots in use and the freedom to change game times until just days before kickoff, they somehow put the Real Madrid-Girona game at the same exact time as the Bayern Munich- Bayer Leverkusen game.

The Asturian Derby (Real Oviedo-Sporting Gijón) is also at the same time and mostly of interest in Spain though I know some folks here have more than a passing interest in Real Oviedo.

I wonder how long it has been since the Asturian Derby was played with both teams within 3-4 points of second place. Oviedo hasn’t lost in eight league matches, while Sporting has but a bit of a rough patch, but with a lot at play, it’s going to be a fun one to watch.

Ben Godfrey has worked his way into the side at RB and is adding some much needed athleticism.

Of which Ederson is on the wrong side of, having collided in a scrap for a loose ball. He’s down.

Did Godfried run a trough through Ederson’s hair or is that something that Ederson actually decided would be a good idea to do to himself?

Everton are playing actual football here and have been decent. City disinterested. Of course Everton will struggle to sustain over 90 and City’s quality will show.

Doku living up to what I’ve heard, huge talent who loves to try to do it all himself, loves dribbling into three defenders and losing the ball

Interesting starting XI for Pep, with four attacking players (Haaland, Alvarez, Foden, and Doku) and only two real midfielders (Rodri and Nunes), and they haven’t been able to dominate the middle of the pitch like they usually do. I’m sure they’ll figure it out and credit to Everton as well, but curious to see what Pep does.

city 75% possession but most of it harmless, not much threat from either side yet

I’d be curious to see a heat map, but it seems like City has had the ball in wide areas rather than in more dangerous spots in front of goal.

Looking ahead to 10, flu going through the Liverpool side. Appears they will be missing Allison and Gomez due to illness. With Konate already suspended and Bradley on bereavement, the back line is a bit thin.

There’s been some more danger from City in the last but to be fair from Everton too, although Everton are so poor with the last ball or shot

City try a cute short corner routine with the announced stoppage time already gone, and screw it up. Bad idea

0-0 halftime.

it’s the hope that kills uou.

At 58’ Prp will remember that he’s got the best player in the world on his bench, and that will be that

Pep doesn’t change it up very often. It’s almost like he views it as an admission that he got it wrong in the first place. Was there word on why KDB didn’t start ?

Like for like changes from Pep, I guess we’ll see if it was more of a scheme issue or a personnel issue.

I am a Dyche fanboy but the one thing that drives fans apeshit is his reluctance for subs. We’re going to need fresh legs. Dobbin for Young please.

Kelleher takes a dangerous tumble in net because of an extremely delayed flag on an extremely obvious offside. Luckily he’s fine but wtf
