That’s the rub, right? There can’t be a goal scored on a corner in this one, or there will be a penalty awarded on every corner. There’s little middle ground.
I think the fact that the push that led to the handball created space that created the chance was the deciding factor. And it did. They are not going to negate a penalty from just any push.
It was completely immaterial. Neither of those guys were getting to the ball.
Really poor first half by the U.S. Too tentative on the ball and just awful giveaways up the center leading to too much play in and around their box. Canada always looked more dangerous except on U.S. set pieces.

I don't think he was reaching for the ball, I think he was reaching for the man. A penalty is very harsh.

It's a B team with the exception of our goalkeeper. Almost all the starters and primary subs got rotated home after the Nations League.
