Mike Yurcich was touted as an offensive wunderkind when he came over from Texas. He has demonstrated absolutely no imagination. He has been unable to design plays - like, say, a screen - to get the ball to the very capable backs when running between the tackles proves difficult; or on 3rd and short consistently coming out with the same full, power backfield and running either a tush push or handoff up the middle; or consistently running bubble screens to the TE / WR on the short side of the field where there is little room to maneuver. And what has hurt Allar most this year is a receiving corps that simply cannot get separation. He's consistently having to throw into very, very tight windows. It's a credit to him that he doesn't have at least a dozen interceptions (he also needs to get a better grip on his understanding of intentional grounding, because he has had to throw the ball away ALOT and has unnecessisarily exposed himself to the call on way too many occasions).

Franklin and Yurcich must go. It's time.
Also looked like Allar and his receivers are reading out of a different playbook...or plays when they're allowed to improvise that they're not at all on the same page.

PSU definitely loves the "run it into the line play" on first and second down quite a bit though.. There were probably two or three creative plays today.. but screens would certainly seem to be helpful and they didn't do anything creative to get their receivers open. Was KeAndre hurt from last week? Didn't feel like he go used barely at all today.

Agree on Franklin.. not sure if his successor will be as good at recruiting, but he'll have to be better at managing any competitive games. He's great at beating up the little guys, but PSU will never finish in the top 4 with him.

I've seen it before but what that Washington guy did is so completely fucked up and insane, I still can't believe it.

Penix has looked spotty today but his arm is crazy good. He is really good at putting the ball where only the receiver can get it.

Penix throws with zip. This is the guy I think
Its an open question if he can play at the next level. He has a lot of elite weapons and a fantastic OL. What does he look like throwing to a WR3 while running for his life from much faster NFL defenders?

Agree and ftr I’m assuming the pats don’t end up with a top 3 pick
If the Patriots somehow got Penix I'd be fine rolling those dice. That arm talent is unique. If you can get him protection and a separator, LFG. All easier said than done and even if they did those things it may not work.

Playing QB1 in the NFL effectively is just really hard.

3 SEC teams in the playoff possible? (Georgia with a tight loss tonight and a tight win over Bama in SEC CG and everyone wins out otherwise
(Need Wash to lose FSU to lose and perhaps Michigan or OSU to lose next week or OSU tonight and then the loser beating the Big Game)
