What an embarrassing post-game interview. These guys love God and Harbaugh, not necessarily in that order.

PSU was averaging 60 yards a game allowed on the ground. Michigan ran for 227, which was 231 prior to the final 2 plays.

Penn State has played this way forever. Great defense not much offense.
I don't think this is all that true... I mean they've had great defenses, but they also had some pretty decent offenses in the 80s and 90s.. and weren't awful in some of the last few years. You could argue that their passing offense has been ok.. but they've always been able to run.

In the 90s the offense had Kerry Collins, Kyle Brady, Kijana Carter, OJ McDuffie, etc. They've always had very good running backs.. their QBs have been hit or miss and they've had some decent receivers, but not as good as OSU.. but plenty of NFL talent has gone through the offensive side of the ball over the years.

They didn’t play like this under O’Brien, did they?

That early, it doesn't make sense.

edit - especially because this offense fucking sucks
My argument is I feel like they shouldn't have settled for the FG on 4th and 4.. Probably not the best coaching move, but their defense was playing great and if they didn't get it they would have pinned Michigan in the end zone.. kicking the FG just put 3 points on the board which just felt like it gave all the momentum to Michigan... then they just started putting in bigger offensive linemen in the next series and just ran it pretty much the rest of the game.

I'm happy. Nice for our boys to walk into Happy Valley without HC and show up like that. Haters gonna hate. As Emperor Palpatine put it, it is all proceeding as I have foreseen it.

How I will go run errands in my Michigan hat, Astros t-shirt and Pats sweats.

Have fun losing to OSU.

edit: just bitter.. but the defense looked like they'd get smoked by a half decent qb, but I guess we'll see... Also as a PSU fan..walking into Happy Valley and winning isn't all that much of an accomplishment as of late.

Really? I think it’s going to go similarly to today. And we will still have no idea how good they are until they play Georgia
I suspect that they are still not good enough to beat Georgia. I just care what happens in 2 weeks (without overlooking next week).

Michigan
James Franklin has coached like an idiot today. Don’t watch them enough to know if that’s every week. Chasing 2 points early, and that god awful decision to go for it are embarrassingly bad.
If the Big Ten wanted to really punish Michigan there’d have suspended Franklin

I don't know. Michigan -- with Harbaugh sitting in a hotel -- played a better game against PSU in Happy Valley than OSU played them in the Horseshoe. As for handing off the whole second half -- low risk, high reward and if your opponent can't stop the run, win by winning.

Love JJ McCarthy. Hope Pats draft him if they can’t get Caleb or Drake.
In the 2nd? Sure take a chance. Maybe I just don’t watch enough college football. But I haven’t seen anything other than game manager or beating up on horrible programs. I get the game plan but as a Pats/NFL fan just show me something to give me enough confidence that he’s not Big 10 Zach Wilson, please.

IMO OSU's passing will do better against UM than they did against PSU.. but we haven't really seen Michigan play anyone yet so who knows.

PSU's defense is pretty legit.. although I guess they can't stop the run.. but they were on the field most of the day. Offensive play calling and playing was pretty awful generally fo PSU though.

edit: with that said.. OSU has looked pretty mediocre this year as well.. for three teams in the top ten they all seem a bit flawed.

Crazy game at Harvard Stadium..

Leading Penn 20-10 at the half, Harvard allowed the Quakers to push the game to OT at 20-20.

Held Penn to a FG on first possession in OT. Harvard drove to get a first and goal at the two… before getting stuffed three times. They really should gone for it on 4th, but settled for game tying FG.

Harvard botched its second drive and Penn settled for game-winning 35 FG attempt… but missed it.

Moving to 3rd OT…

And Harvard wins on a double reverse throwback to the QB. Ivy champs!

(though beating Yale is the only thing that matters.)

Mike Yurcich was touted as an offensive wunderkind when he came over from Texas. He has demonstrated absolutely no imagination. He has been unable to design plays - like, say, a screen - to get the ball to the very capable backs when running between the tackles proves difficult; or on 3rd and short consistently coming out with the same full, power backfield and running either a tush push or handoff up the middle; or consistently running bubble screens to the TE / WR on the short side of the field where there is little room to maneuver. And what has hurt Allar most this year is a receiving corps that simply cannot get separation. He's consistently having to throw into very, very tight windows. It's a credit to him that he doesn't have at least a dozen interceptions (he also needs to get a better grip on his understanding of intentional grounding, because he has had to throw the ball away ALOT and has unnecessisarily exposed himself to the call on way too many occasions).

Franklin and Yurcich must go. It's time.

Colorado blows a 4th quarter lead, loses on a 31 yard FG on the last play.

Tough loss, although Arizona is pretty solid.
