Kyle Teel is batting 3rd & DH'ing. No Nazzan, Tucker or JOHANFRAN.

They took Johanfran out after one AB yesterday. Hoping that wasn't an injury.

TEEL just got his 1st professional hit. Single on a line drive to RF.

Earlier in the inning, YUTE led off with a triple & scored on a wild pitch.

470th out of 470 qualifying players for worst BB rate???? That’s horrifying and beyond worrisome. Am I misunderstanding that? Has he not been walked this season???
I think that might have been before the 4 walk game, but yeah, he isn't walking much.

It's not really horrifying because he's raking & not striking out a ton, but it's a big part of why people want to give him more time at AAA.

Bout time to send Story to the Sox & Koss to the WooSox.

BTW, I said TEEL was DH'ing because that's how it was listed, but he's actually catching & caught 1 of 2 attempted base stealers so far.

If Rafaela can hit .300+ with power, the walk rate is not irrelevant but it’s less significant. If he is like a .290/.330 BA/OBP guy (basically what he did in Portland) I think we’ll be good with that given the defensive value at premium positions.

Where it’s trouble is if he is more like a .250/.280 guy and the pop doesn’t translate, etc. For me it’s less about how often he is walking and more about how often he’s putting up good at bats, attacking hittable pitches, and not getting himself out on stuff out of the zone.

I never really like to see new draftees, no matter the college, international, high school pedigree, to be put into any system's Top 20 rankings until they actually start to play games but TEEL may be one of the few I'd make exceptions for.

It’s crazy what the system is doing this year despite graduating a top 2 prospect and 2 of the start-of-season top 5 prospects basically having lost years.

YOEY isn't playing g2. As such, they are losing 1-0.

It will be literally impossible for him to his .290 with his current chase rate. He won’t be a major league hitter until he learns to not swing at pitches out of the zone.

It appears to me has been better at that the last week or so, but we need to wait for updated numbers.

What is your gut--Salem or Greenville?
Greenville.

He's ready. No point in putting him in Salem. Hopefully Brooks Brannon will be back catching for Salem soon.

I actually wouldn't mind if they just did Portland. Would make sense if they're ready to move Hickey off catching. Otherwise, would probably take too much time from his development.
