Different perspective on the team is a good thing. (I lean towards JB's take, but I think they all see the learning value.)
“It’s also healthy to get a loss here and there like, ‘Here we go. Let’s recalibrate a little bit and have that attention to detail again,’ " Porzingis said. “So, I think it’s completely fine and I think it’s necessary to keep building.”
Tatum and Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla shared similar sentiments, but forward Jaylen Brown seemed to find the result more disturbing.
“Everybody’s going to have their own perspective on it,” Brown said. “Mine is that that’s what happens when you don’t match the gas and take little things for granted throughout the game and let a team stick around.”
Brown said the Celtics did not match Cleveland’s physicality, did not space the floor on offense as well as they have most of the season, and simply did not execute when needed. He was not ready to brush it under the rug.
“Today matters,” Brown said. “Whether everybody wants to throw it away or not, we’ve got to look at the film and address some stuff, because that matters. Your habits are everything, your mentality is everything.”
