I started turning the sound off on every sporting event that I watch. Been doing it for like two years now. It makes game so much better not hearing the nonsense.
Not sports related, but can remember my doctor telling me a 15 years ago to close my eyes during any pharma ad on TV and just listen. 60+ seconds of listening about potentially terrible side effects while the video is people dancing at weddings or kayaking in a lake living their best life.

every preseason game is made by their teams brocast and NFL always takes the home team feed when NFL network first started they wouild do a haif useing the away team feed and a haif with the home teams
I don’t have any issue with homerism. If it came across that way I wasn’t complaining about the color guy. My problem is the split screen in-game interview bullshit. They have had since February to talk about nonsense. When players are playing, I need them to talk about that or at least not cut away from the game to show two dudes in chairs. What is the point of a ZOOM panel show while the game is on. I promise you, the sickos watching preseason want to watch the sport be played not random gum flapping.

Going to be a long year for Mac with people screaming for Malik to play after every incompletion.

He captures the imagination even more than Zappe.

He's also a vax for an O-line that can't block. Only problem is he'll get killed running around like that. But he's fun to watch.

Obviously it's one quarter of one preseason game, but I think it was enough for me to at the very least believe they shouldn't be trying Cunningham out at receiver. They have their fair share of young, promising players at that spot and his athleticism doesn't necessarily make him stand out there. I think there are enough QB traits there that the kid deserves a shot at being developed in his position. Thought he was much more poised yesterday than I would've expected for a guy who started repping with the QBs in camp last week.

TT had a great grab in the 1st. Promising considering he’s been limited in practice.

Harris had one decent run and a big push on 3rd and 1 for a 1st down but there wasn’t enough there to feel confident in giving him the backup role. Strong and Taylor were meh. Obviously a lot of that is the line but I would expect BB to go get Zeke Elliot now. Maybe he waits to see how Harris/Strong do behind the 1st team line.

When Cunningham scored the TD and electrified the crowd you could see BB listening in to O’Brien’s direction to Cunningham and had a big smile.
O-line notwithstanding this is actually a pretty interesting young team that could make some noise.
Looking forward to seeing the starters next week. Probably will see them a lot right? Given there are only 3 preseason games?

The rush of Patriots Twitter and Reddit to just determine Zappe is awful after this game is hilarious. People have so little confidence Mac will perform at a level that puts the calls for a backup to rest that they just take any opportunity to kill the kid's career so people "get behind the starting QB" or whatever. Zappe wasn't great last night, but they called plays as if they had zero trust in the OL and the primary concern was for him not to get killed. Just a ton of screens behind a patchy OL. Obviously not anything to write home about, but "that's it, he can't play" is just an insane reaction.

Finally finished the game

Cunningham looked good
Mills looked good
White looked good
Defense decent overall
Offense especially the OL (backups but still) was awful

Zappe and Mac strike me as the type of duo that the team doesn’t need to carry a QB3 but maybe BB rosters him if he sees potential.

edit: is there a new rule about 3rd QBs this year?
Best QB by talent on one of the two teams, in order:
Stroud
Mills
Cunningham
Keenum
Jones
Zappe
