Stork is a grown ass man and the consequences of concussions are well known at this point. We also know that not all concussions are created equal or affect people in the same way. I don't think anyone knows nearly enough to be suggesting that he should or should not retire. Maybe he should, maybe he doesn't need to. We will never be informed enough to understand how he is making that decision. Concussions are certainly bad, no one would argue differently, but many here treat them like the boogeyman.

Agreed--there is a reaction sometimes like "oh, he got his third concussion? Zounds, he should retire for his own good!" when we have no actual information. That's why I tried to focus purely on onfield durability; whether or not Stork should retire for his own good there's a problem if your starting center is missing 40% of his games whether it's concussions or something else.

"Keeping it as positive as I can be. Overcoming it the best way I can. Just want to go out there and play really well. Good competition during camp. Can't take any days off. Everybody has to be ready to go."

"Tried to move on (from the ruling). Trying to be a good example to my teammates. Trying to be competitive. My family has been everything to me. Had support of my teammates, Mr. Kraft and Jonathan, the fans we have the best fans in the world. Trying to give them something to cheer about this year.

"Every day is important to me. I have to bring it every day. Try to go out there and lead by example and show I'm ready to go mentally and physically".

"I'll deal with it when it comes. I don't have a plan right now. Just have to get better every day(talking about during suspension). We have a good competitive team and I'll be rooting to win every game when I'm not there and when I'm here.

"Trying to push everybody's buttons and hope they push back."

Brady spoke for about 5 minutes. Calls the decision to not fight anymore a personal decision.

Volin and Zolak in a twit-fight? Is it too much to ask for the string connecting their intertube orange juice cans to be struck by lightning so that both are no longer able to pollute the local discourse?

I'd much rather have Zo than Volin that is for sure.

Brady went 25-for-25 in today's scrimmage. Amazing.
I only hear Zolak doing color during games. He sounds like post-shooting James Brady on a bender. "oooodddd.....doooh....punchhimintheface....how does that felll.....fodkjheorfiuyer...." Maybe he's better in non-game situations. I agree Volin is useless, though.

Looks like I'll have a field pass for the final tune-up @NYG. Unclear if I'll be able to sneak over to the good guys' sideline.

Marrying into an inheritance of six lower bowl season tickets at Giants Stadium is like that Twilight Zone episode where the guy dies and thinks he's gone to heaven before realizing it's actually the other place.

What is the deal with Cannon at tackle with the first unit? He was abysmal there last year. Is that their best option, really?

Cannon is garbage at LT but he's generally been ok at RT (particularly in the long starting stretch he had in 13).
I generally disagree with this assessment.

Canon has no business near a starting RT role on a legit contender absent a couple injuries. He's pretty bad. I don't think he's even been ok.

Sorry to ask a me-specific question -- I tried searching the forum but had trouble finding this thread. I feel like I remember past threads about attending games but not camp.

Anyway, friend and I are planning to go to camp for the very first time tomorrow (!!!) for the joint practice.

Any tips from vets on where to park/stand/what to bring/when to arrive? It's scheduled to run 915-1130, and I'm assuming the joint practice aspect will make it a madhouse.

I think you're radically overestimating the talent that's out there at tackle (particularly relative to the current quite good crop of edge rushers). If memory serves Mike Remmers, Michale Schofield and Justin Britt were the last three non Vollmer RTs to start a superbowl. They all suck. Eric Fisher and Nate Solder are 10 million a year players and legitimately pretty good tackles and they get crushed out there from time to time.

“@ZackCoxNESN: Julian Edelman is sitting on a cart being examined by a team trainer. Needless to say, that is not good news for the Pats.”

“@PhilAPerry: Julian Edelman has checked out of practice after participating in one-on-drills. Slammed his helmet to the ground after talking to trainers.”

“@DougKyed: Edelman is walking slowly off the field.”

“@MikeReiss: Julian Edelman had taken off his left shoe while on cart. He is now walking off the field as practice continues.”

If he rebroke it they'd probably have to put in a new screw and bone graft it, and I'd say conservatively he'd be out 12 weeks if not four months

yeah this seems bad, fingers crossed its not broken, if so assume we'll basically see him in 2017 and hope he's still as good.

Not to be a downer...but don't take any positives out of the fact that he walked off the field on his own power ...the simple fact that he slammed his helmet to the ground is not good...I'm sure he has a pretty good sense of what happened...sucks...

Am I the only one thinking why was he pushing it?
I don't know, hard to tell. Football players play football during football season, can't wrap these guys in bubble wrap. Maybe its a screw up, but unless we hear a real doctor with real reasons why its a screw up I don't really think "why was he pushing it"

Here
Different injuries, but I've got a very Yao feeling on Edelman. If he broke it again, it's reportedly the third break in 8 months. Good chance his days of being effective would be over.

“@RapSheet: Based on the initial exams, #Patriots WR Julian Edelman’s injury is not believed to be serious, source said. Will keep checking.”

Maybe semi-reassuring, but not an injury I'd be very reassured by any exam that doesn't involve some imaging.
