I admit I knew nothing of this this second place finisher Willie Mac, I didn't even think he got drafted. But reading this espn story from 2008 has made him someone I will root for years to come - http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=3187736

Again I think I will finish middle of the pack with 10 points for the week, thought I could have had something if Furyk put together an outstanding round and was the top drafted player, but T-6 was all he could do.

Yep, he's an interesting guy and he's having a damn good season.  In his last four tournaments, he's finished 2nd, 4th, 6th and 43rd.  He's got 9 top 15's in 13 events this year, and already has over $1.2m in earnings (over 6m in his career).

I first went to the Duestche Bank a few years back.  It was my first every tournament, so I dragged my girlfriend out of bed and got there at like 7am to see everyone tee off.  Mackenzie was in the 4th or 5th group and his caddy asked the crowd if anyone had a plastic bag (so he could wrap will's sandwich in it for later).  I have him mine and he gave to to Will.  Will asked what my name was, wrote "Thanks Anthony!" on a glove and signed it for me.

That day he became my 9th favorite golfer and will always be in my top 25.

Yeah, I saw a similar joke on Twitter.(Tiger Withdraws after breaking out with a severe case of five over) Not saying you stole it, just that it is funny. Rory got hell for quitting last year. Tiger will get hell this year. Especially b/c Tiger always seems to bail when he's not playing well. That said, maybe he wasn't playing well b/c he was hurt. Getting old. Jack's record looks somewhat safe.

So, Tiger had back surgery.

Bubba withdrew after an 83 because of "allergies," and DJ withdrew today after an 80. No reason given.

So, umm, I have Jones.  Does anyone know how the playoff is set up?  Did it already happen?  Seems as though the tv coverage is taped.

Woohoo, Jones wins the playoff.  Considering I only had 2 guys make the cut, and each only got 1 point, I don't think 17 points will hold up this week.  Just my luck, of course.  Normally, I have 3-4 guys make the cut every week and pick up a few points from a couple of them, but never have anyone actually win a tournament.

Oh well, another week in double digits.  My climb up the leaderboard continues on.

And Kuchar was one up in the fairway on the 72nd hole and put his second shot into the drink.  That, coupled with the bomb that Jones hit led to the playoff.

7 guys playing in a major including the defending champion... that's some bullshit. If RandyWatson doesn't win this week he should owe us money.

Yeah boys and girls.  My first win this past week, coming on the heels of my second place finish the week before.  That's double digits in 3 of the last 4 weeks.  Only 2 guys going this week, but one of them is Zach Johnson, and he will win, and I will win again with no other help.  I'm coming for you.

I love this post.

This past weekend, 8 guys scored 8 points. Yup, that is my team.

Was looking really good for me on Sat. when Choi and Sabbatini were 1-2 on the leaderboard, but KJ sure imploded.  I love my team, though.  Two top 10s this week won't be enough, but it's been crazy steady and I feel like Every and Mahan really haven't done all that much.

I had a really good looking team on Saturday with 2 players tied for second and another in the top 5. Unfortunately Nicholas Thompson shot a 5 over on the final 8 holes to drop from 3rd to 13th. CShea and myself have both put up pretty decent overall numbers but haven't been able to have our team pull out a win yet.

Yeah, my team has been more consistent week-to-week than I thought they would be. No huge weeks, but I've put at least 5 points every week except for one week.

This part of the schedule worries me, though. My European players will likely be on the sidelines most weeks between now and the British Open at the end of July. They played a lot through the Florida swing because they live there, but their schedules dry up now. The only big events left, aside from the Majors, are the Players, the Bridgestone and then the playoffs. The Memorial has a decent field too, I suppose.

It seems like that's true across the board though. This week there will be 67 out of 152 players teeing up that were undrafted. The only tournament last year with a higher percentage was The Open. 4 of the other 5 above 40% were Byron Nelson, St. Jude, British Open and The US Open.
