Less than a mile from TDAP and the rain is torrential, with more out west heading east. May be a while for the game to restart. Does TDAP have a curfew?

Tonight's game has been suspended until 2 p.m. tomorrow. The Texas/Vandy game at 7 PM, Ole MIss/VU If Necessary, Time TBD on Sunday.

EDIT - Those are local times (CDT).

EDIT - Also, there are between 3 and 4 inches of rainwater in the dugouts, and they aren't draining.

Ole Miss with a 1-0 lead in the b-3rd, and now they've loaded the bases with 2 out and Will Allen coming up. He's already got a single and scored the game's lone run in the b-2nd (on a double steal with J.B. Woodman).

UVA stuck with Josh Sborz on the mound, while Ole Miss went to Scott Weathersby for the 2nd (he quelled the Cavs' threat, stranding the runners that were left when the game was suspended) and brought in their ace Chris Ellis in the 3rd.

EDIT - He rips a line drive but it's right at Kenny Towns at third base, who didn't have to move. On to the 4th.

UVA also loads the bases, with 1 out in the t-4th, and #9 hitter Robbie Coman with an opposite-field line-drive single to score both Joe McCarthy and Brandon Downes. Stil 1st & 3rd with 1 down, and there's lefty action in the Ole Miss pen.

EDIT - A Brandon Cogswell safety squeeze scores John LaPrise, and it's 3-1 Cavs.

Cavs threatening again in the t-5th after Mike Papi walks & Towns singles to left. 1st & 2nd, no outs.

EDIT - Joe McCarthy messes up his bunt attempt, dropping the bat too low and popping it up to Ole Miss catcher Austin Knight.

EDIT - Ellis gets a slow ground ball to short from Derek Fisher, and Errol Robinson makes a nice quick transfer to Preston Overbey at 2nd, who turns the DP nicely to end the inning.

Virginia added another run in the t-7th on Joe McCarthy's RBI double to right-center, scoring Danny Pinero.

Ole Miss now down to its last 3 outs, as Nick Howard comes on to pitch the 9th for the Cavs against the bottom third of the order: Preston Overbey, Errol Robinson & Austin Knight.

EDIT -  A leadoff single up the middle by Overbey starts things off for the Rebs, and Dalton Dulin comes on to pinch-run.

EDIT - Robinson's grounder to short is turned into a 6-4-3 DP. Howard hitting 98 on the gun this inning. Two down.

EDIT - A swinging strikeout ends it, and UVA advances to the final. Bummer to see Ole Miss bow out, as they've been a fun team to watch and their fan base has shown unparalleled support, but the Cavs have been dominant and earned this all the way.

UT player just struck out on the edge in the second inning. When I say edge, I mean the outer edge of the white chalk line. Horrendous strike 3 call and of course espn doesn't show the kzone replay.

Vandy struck first with a run in the b-1st, as Bryan Reynolds & Vince Conde singled, a walk to Zander Wiel loaded them up, and Reynolds scored on a John Norwood grounder.

Parker French threw 38 pitches for the Horns in that opening frame, and his command was spotty right from the start. Augie pulls him after 2 IP (1 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 0 K, 54 pitches) and goes to Morgan Cooper to start the 3rd. Vince Conde is safe to lead off on an error by Texas 3B Zane Gurwitz, who played back on a grounder instead of charging it and got eaten up on a bad hop. Norwood bunted for a single, then the runners stole 2nd & 3rd. But on the play, Conde scores on an error by catcher Tres Barrera.

2-0 Vandy heading to the t-4th.

C.J. Hinojosa starts things off with a double for the Horns, and Collin Shaw beats out a nubber in front of the place when the throw from Vandy backstop Karl Ellison was late. 1st & 3rd, no outs for Ben Johnson.

EDIT - Wow, Fulmer walks him to load the bases. He's not looking sharp at all tonight (3 H, 3 BB, 2 K, 56 pitches), and the Commodores' bullpen gets busy.

EDIT - Brutal breaking ball on a 1-1 count makes Barrera look foolish, but nearly as much as the the breaking ball for strike three. Two huge sliders for a big first out.

EDIT - Kacy Clemens ties it up on a hard single up the middle, plating Hinojosa & Shaw. That pitch was right down broadway, and he smoked it. New ball game.

EDIT - Gurwitz advances both runners on a grounder to 1st. Big AB coming up here for the LHH Brooks Marlow.

EDIT - A fly ball ends the rally. On to the b-4th.

Mark Payton draws a 1-out walk in the t-5th (Fulmer's 4th free pass of the day), and moves to 2nd on an error by Fulmer on the pickoff attempt. And now he takes 3rd on a pitch in the dirt that Ellison couldn't corral.

Fulmer's at 76 pitches now, and Hayden Stone continues to loosen up in the Vandy pen.

EDIT - He walks Zander Wiel on 4 pitches. Fulmer looking more & more like a faster-working version of struggling Clay Buchholz.

After Hiojosa steals second without a throw (the first SB allowed by Vandy in the postseason), Fulmer walks Shaw to load the sacks with one out.

And that'll be the night for him after 87 pitches (4.1 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 6 BB, 3 K). Stone comes on to face Ben Johnson.

Holy crap. One pitch, hard-hit grounder, 5-4-3 GIDP, inning over. What a HUGE play.

Texas has now stranded 7 runners over the first 5 innings.

Vandy reclaims the lead in the b-5th after Wiel walks, Norwood singles, and Rhett Wiseman doubles home a run. But they end the inning on a real head-scratcher, playing for the suicide squeeze with Wiseman on 3rd and 2 strikes on Nolan Rogers. It's a strikeout and a rundown for an easy tag and the double play.

Tres Barrera leads off the Texas t-6th with a triple, and it's probably the fastest I've ever seen any catcher run in my life.

EDIT - Gurwitz singles him home and we're knotted again, 3-3.

EDIT - Great breaking pitch to whiff Brooks Marlow for the 2nd out. Dropped like a rock.

EDIT - Pickoff throw hits Gurwitz and gets away as he scampers into scoring position.

EDIT - Carter goes down swinging, and we head to the b-6th.

Mike Hargrove, the Human Rain Delay, has some serious competition for that title if this kid ever reaches the bigs...

After that Bryan Reynolds foul ball, it took 35 seconds for the next pitch. When he's up and men are on base, time just stops.

Vandy gets the leadoff man on in the b-7th as Vince Conde hits a full-swing nubber in front of the plate, and beats it out for an infield single.

EDIT - Zander Wiel had a helluva PA there, on the first 7 pitches anyway (including a foul ball down the LF line that was absolutely crushed), but he whiffs on the 8th for the first out.

EDIT - Conde steals 2nd a 1-1 pitch.

EDIT - Cooper whiffs Norwood, and he'll get a well-deserved ovation as he departs after 88 pitches (4.2 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 5 K). Lefty Travis Duke comes in to face the LH-hitting Wiseman.

EDIT - It's a 2-pitch AB and a pop-out to short to end the inning. On to the 8th.

Ben Johnson leads off for the Horns with a single, and moves to 2nd on a 2-out wild pitch, but Stone gets Gurwitz swinging. He's needed just 42 pitches to get through 3.2 innings with 6 K. On to the b-8th.

Two impressive swinging Ks of the first two batters for Duke.

And Marlow snares a first-pitch liner by Campbell to end the frame.

Horns coming up in the t-9th.

Man, that video medley they just showed of various walk-off CWS title games through the years gave me goosebumps. Such a great event. Warren fucking Morris FTW.

Man, Reynolds is really maddening. After every pitch he's got all the Nomar adjustments. And there's the first hit allowed by Duke, a 1-out single up the middle.

EDIT - Augie's made all the right moves tonight, and he's making another one as RH closer John Curtiss comes on in relief to face RHH Vince Conde.

EDIT - Wow, they pitch out as Reynolds goes, and Barrera guns him down with a quick release. Treat catch&wait by Hinojosa out of the dirt.

EDIT - And he gets Conde looking. On to extras.

And Augie knew he'd be going. Easier to run on the righty with Duke out of the game. Great call on the pitch-out.

Holy shit. What a running catch with full glove extension by Wiseman on a gapper by Hinojosa. Great jump, great route.

EDIT - Stone is really dealing out there. That motion with the mid-delivery knee bend makes it look like he's taking a hop step. But he issues his first walk of the night to Ben Johnson with 2 out.

EDIT - Another vicious slider, another whiff. That's 8 for Stone in 5.2 innings. Only a freshman.
