No way did it wrap around that red marker.
The angle they showed us from above is not directly above them, so you can't assume it was accurate.
I'll say this - if it was an accurate picture then he dropped in the wrong place. But since it looked like he was getting help from an official, I assume his drop was generally accurate.
In short - who knows?
