As the old saying goes, you can't go 82-0-0 without winning game 1 and 2! Divisional game, spoil their Opening Night and let them know they'll be chasing all year. Go B's!

Schedule makers hit it out of the park. B's visit Detroit twice in the first 7 calendar days of the season.

Well done

The Bruins/Habs games this year are an outstanding troll job on the league's behalf. All 4 are the second half of back-to-back's with travel for the Bruins. The Habs are idle the day before 3 of the games.

I'm assuming Julien uses the same lineup as last night. Maybe Caron for Robins since you don't need a goon against the Wings, but so thought Robins played well enough even without the considering the fight to warrant another game.

Last night was the first game to see how it will go trying to replace Boychuk and Iginla. We saw how some of the young players would play. Some questions starting to be answered.

But tonight we start to answer the biggest question: How will NESN replace Jamie Erdahl? She will never be replaced in my heart but can her replacement competently deliver sideline news and interviews?

I understand they needed to keep their core together of Orsillo, Caron, Edwards and Brickley but Jamie is the young talent you open up the checkbook for. This could come back and bite them when she's hosting some national show in 10 years.

As for the game go B's. Opening the season with 2 wins would be nice. Bittersweet no Datsyuk. He won't be killing us but he's still my favorite player to watch.

I was a huge Naoko fan and would take her back in a second but Jamie is my favorite by far

Stupid to have one team open with back to backs while other team doesn't.

The little town of Bethlehem.
I was on the treadmill at the gym last night and while watching the pregame on NBC, I saw that Jamie was about to interview Tuukka . With my headphones on and while jogging on the treadmill, I blurt out "Jamie!". I was not ashamed.

Got in at 2:15 for the home opener against a team they bounced from the playoffs. Weather the storm and get 'me late

It's more like a drizzle than a storm, but the Bruins are weathering it. Would be nice to check out the Detroit end of the ice though at some point.

Just the kind of first period you want on the road in the second half of a back to back:  low energy and ends with you in the lead.

NESN just showed McQuaid leading the team with 10+ minutes in the 1st. That seems odd
He led them last night with 21:47 to Chara's 21:17.

Part of the heavy lifting in the first period tonight is they killed 2 penalties (one where Seidenberg was in the box, so short a D), no PP's, and then they iced the puck 9 times that period which kept shifts a bit longer than usual.
