£88m bid by City for Lucas Paqueta, sounds like that'll eventually get done. Edson Alvarez also official for WHU
I'm really going to have to reassess Paqueta after this. I trust City and Pep's scouting (thank you capt. Obvious) and that seems like a WILD overpay IMO£88m bid by City for Lucas Paqueta, sounds like that'll eventually get done. Edson Alvarez also official for WHU
Yeah, I don't get this either. He had .25 npxg+xa/90 in 2700 minutes last season at age 24. He put up decent numbers in previous years at Lyon but it's hardly like he set Ligue 1 on fire.I'm really going to have to reassess Paqueta after this. It seems very un-City in general. They're usually very good with succession planning, identifying and moving on targets early, and then not overpaying.Yeah, I don't get this either. Look at it this way—good prep for being a rotation player in our MMR midfieldUgh. For this price I was hoping he’d go some place where he’d be a bang on starter, ideally for a top-half EPL club. Hope this goes great or he ends up in that kind of spot in 2 years to prep for WC.
Last minute bidding war for Caicedo, claims Fabrizio.
When the dust clears, it'll be interesting to find out how much of this was real and how much smoke. And, if real, whether Liverpool was laying in wait the whole time to gazump Chelsea on Caicedo if the opportunity arose while Chelsea was laying in wait to gazump Liverpool on Lavia!

This is probably a better fit for the USMNT thread, but I'm hoping they end up with RAM and McKenzie missing out. A destroyer, an advancer, a creator.Look at it this way—good prep for being a rotation player in our MMR midfield
It was reported by Sky Sports that Pep had tried to get him last season before West Ham got him?It seems very un-City in general. They're usually very good with succession planning, identifying and moving on targets early, and then not overpaying.
Pep's record of getting the best out of players is incredible but Paqueta feels like a player not really at the same level as the talents that have occupied the attacking midfield and wing roles for City since Pep really got them going (KDB, Bernardo, Gundogan, Mahrez, Grealish, Foden, Sterling, Sane, etc).
88m bid is only coming from some rando Brazilian account that has been throwing out different bid amounts that allegedly have been rejected for a couple days...I would put the chances of it being real at... 0.00001%. The more reputable sources in Europe say Man City checked in with a verbal offer of either 60 or 70m and maybe a loan or loan to buy on one of their youngsters (Palmer?).£88m bid by City for Lucas Paqueta, sounds like that'll eventually get done. I would love to see Jonathan David move to WHL, but frankly I think Spurs roll with what they have up top and if they bring in anyone else it's a CB or perhaps a 10 to backup Maddy/GLC.Kane to Bayern has hit “Here We Go” status. Now let’s see if other strikers begin to move.

View: https://twitter.com/mohamedbouhafsi/status/1689988875853168640Reputable sources (and a vague Moyes comment) not saying that City have bid for Pacqueta and it is looking like a deal over 90m will happen?
That would be awesome. No doubt Adams would do great a mid-table side like Chelsea, but Brighton are in Europe, so there will be plenty of minutes available there, even if they are a more talented squad than the Londoners.ESPN now reporting that Brighton might come in for Adams if Caicedo ends up going out. That would be just about a perfect landing spot, so here's hoping.
I want him at West Ham so bad. If Moyes is gonna play defensive, I want the CONCACAF THUNDER double pivot. That would be awesome. Maybe we can add rumored targets Balogun and Gimenez and really crank it upUSMNT and El Tri fans being forced to root for West Ham while Adams and Alvarez exchange 50 passes a game between them week-in and week-out would certainly be an emotional roller coaster of cognitive dissonance.
If I'm dreaming, I'd at least prefer the Brighton rumors. I've been able to stop hating Brighton ever since they got rid of the loathsome Maupay.
RM really like that Chelsea pipelineKepa to Real Madrid on a season long loan with no obligation to buy. Madrid open their season in a few hours at Kepa’s boyhood club.

And now there is reporting that he will extend for an even more obscene contract - FFP be damned. In a shocking twist to the Mbappe saga, the player has been welcomed back to the PSG squad. This was always going to be the case.

To your point, rumors are that the proposed contract would have a player option again and allow him to move for a free after one additional season, so yeah. And now there is reporting that he will extend for an even more obscene contract - FFP be damned.
Can't wait to watch the next installment of this telenovela next summer.
The bolded is true, but even for this culer I find him one of the most unlikeable best players of his era.Neymar is going to Saudi for circa 90-100m euro.
Incredible deal for PSG, who have been praying to get out from under that contract for years.
I can't blame Neymar for cashing in but its a little sad that his club career at top level is effectively over. Brilliantly talented player. I would have liked to see him change to another big club and give it one more crack.
His last full healthy season was when he was 24 years old; so I don't really think this was true. He was still very productive when he did play, but he really never could stay healthy after leaving Barca.I can't believe Neymar is 31, personally. He's always had a "forever young" image in my head. Perhaps because his game is built off of otherworldly speed and quickness. It's a testament to his work ethic that he's maintained that skillset into his 30s. But I certainly wouldn't want to be the big club that bet on it continuing for another 3-4 years.
Harrison is English, but he played in the US for the Berkshire School in Massachusetts, Black Rock FC (also in MA) Wake Forest, and NYC FC, so he is kind of an honorary American.View: https://twitter.com/EvertonBlueArmy/status/1691013050000674816?s=20
jack Harrison to Everton on a straight loan, no buy option. Almost gazumped by Villa- the real time tweet streams from all the ITKs yesterday was pretty funny. He’s hurt atm and won’t play for another couple weeks.
It does seem weird that he's 18 months older than Harry KaneI can't believe Neymar is 31, personally. He's always had a "forever young" image in my head.
No. Two starters and a backup.Am I correct that Chelsea's midfield three cost over a quarter billion dollars (euros, whatevs) in transfer fees?
How could they be ok with FFP, what a jokeAm I correct that Chelsea's midfield three cost over a quarter billion dollars (euros, whatevs) in transfer fees?
Amortization! How could they be ok with FFP, what a joke
Why don't Wolves and Everton pull a Boehly? Everyone should be doing this. Is Boehly that persuasive where he can get the sellers to take installments?Amortization!
I'm assuming Boehly will not mirror Roman and forgive a multi-billion receivable from the club when he exits.
I'm not following Wolves or Everton, but it appears like Chelsea are paying top dollar. It is easier to accept installment payments when you are selling at a total big premium. Why don't Wolves and Everton pull a Boehly? Everyone should be doing this.
