Nick Senzel had a productive end to the Reds-Nats game.. saved the game by making a nice catch in the 9th, then hit the first pitch of extra innings out.

Yup, bummer. Almost certainly going to need surgery (already had 1).

Maybe they'll let him try to tough it out the rest of the season but this likely will happen again.
Any thoughts on what the underlying issue is? Looks like he said, “I can’t move it” to the trainer? Kind of reminds me of Tatis a couple years ago when he kept on dislocating his shoulder.

Tatis found a solution for that one, but it also causes you to miss 80 games.

Yeah seems like something on the spectrum of Tatis.

Probably some labrum/capsule issue, his glenohumeral joint is unstable, and he keeps having these subluxation/dislocation events.

They can try to give it a few weeks to cool down and hope for the best.. but the vast majority of times if it happens twice, it’s just going to keep happening and will need surgery.

Glasnow just struck out four Braves in the 2nd inning. Quick look has him as the 101st player to strike out 4 in an inning

I haven't seen the official time, but my clock says Aaron Civale and the Guards bullpen just shut out the Royals in 1:54.

EDIT: They're allowing more time after the game before the post-game fireworks because it's not dark enough yet.

Markus Lynn Betts with nos. 24 and 25 tonight (so far).
Plenty of ways to rationalize that trade (I know I certainly have done it).

But the fact that Mookie is dominating for the Dodgers (and playing a good 2B/SS too!!) is both cool and depressing to watch.

If the Red Sox could go back in time, I bet they wish they would have given him 350M or whatever it took. He is so dynamic and so good.

This Mets/Padres game has been a very expensive shit show.

Starling Marte has hit into two double plays with the bases loaded. One in the 1st inning and one in the 9th. The Padres also hit into a double play with the bases loaded. The Mets took a 7-3 lead in the 10th, but Robertson just gave up a homerun to Machado to make it 7-5.

Edit. Mets hold on. That was some awful baseball.

Umps just turned a pretty awesome game between Milwaukee and Cincinnati into a shit show.

Bad balk call with Friedl on first, Counsell came out to complain, turns to go back to his dugout and gets tossed. Chaos ensues, 5 minutes later Brian Anderson (Brewers 3B) is tossed, but nobody on the bench realized it.

At least it means Elly gets to bat again.

Mookie is buliding a big rebound year compared to 2021-22... up to 10 leadoff HRs out of 26, .971 OPS

Orlando Arcia just scored from 1st against the Rays.

This play is notable, because it was on a routine ground ball to Franco.

Rays are about to be only 2 up on Baltimore, who may be about to rule this division until about 2030.

Every single time that I watch Blake Snell be dominant, the announcers spend the entire first 5-6 innings bitching about how dumb it was for TB to take him out in the WS when they did, and seemingly every single time he loses it on the third time around the lineup, within a batter or two each way of batter 19, you could set your watch by it. For years now!!

He got out of it there, but he allowed just 2 batters to reach of the first 18, then walked batters 19 and 20.

Mets are on the brink for this season, Nimmo led off the game with a double, and NY didn’t get another hit all game in a 6-0 loss. They are now 8 losses behind the final playoff spot, 71 games to go.

For the third consecutive start, Ohtani had issues with his finger and left in the 6th inning. He wasn’t pitching great anyways and velocity was down a little. Angels are falling out of it. Rendon was put back on the IL again today.

Juan Soto gives away two runs in the 6th by botching a fly ball with two runners on and two outs. Now he is up the next inning with two runners on and two outs, let's see if he can get those back.

I just watched Willy Adames get himself thrown out stealing second because he put his hand on Jonathan India’s glove just before his foot touched the bag.

Brett Baty had one of the worst back to back half innings possible. He struck out with the tying run on 3rd and 1 out on 3 straight fastballs, then missed a pop up with a runner on 3rd and 1 out, allowing him to score. His WPA should be -1.0.
