Pretty sure someone in NJ made this up this AM actually (not joking), but it does seem to have caught on.March 25 is national peacock day. Literally it is. I didn’t even know that was a thing but it’s perfect
I Have missed what is wrong / what happened, but congrats and happy for you and your fam. Best news of the nightAnd my brother is home from the hospital!
Except I feel like I'll pick Gonzaga not to do anything next year and that will be the year they finally win it.Lessons for future brackets. Never trust Gonzaga, the Big Ten, Rick Barnes, 5-12 match-ups.
Maybe, the google didn't provide much besides links to stuff from today, that seemed to originate in a pinterest post. Wiki has nothing (so clearly 100% not true)Pretty sure someone in NJ made this up this AM actually (not joking), but it does seem to have caught on.
Yikes glad he made it home and awesome he hopefully got home (and was lucid) to see his team. Thanks for all the good thoughts for my brother. (He came home this morning after a month in the hospital battling sepsis which developed following intestinal surgery.)
We grew up in Jersey City. I went to Penn, and he went to St. Peter's. Penn is the official host of this regional, and I'm so pleased to see St. Peter's continuing to enjoy our hospitality!
12 over 5 has been easy money for years.Lessons for future brackets. Never trust Gonzaga, the Big Ten, Rick Barnes, 5-12 match-ups.
Seriously. Bill Walton jr the Portland years. That dude from NC just gets driven in from the back woods for game days right?
I was (but my daughter's a freshman at Purdue).I don’t think there’s anyone outside of West Lafayette who is rooting for Purdue.
Congrats on the season in any case, as a younger PC fan who switched allegiances to URI when going to college there. My hope is Cooley gets the chance to build it up again even after an inevitable downturn in the near future. He really is the right coach despite the mediocre seasons mixed in. The new coach hiring process has left a lot to be desired by the PC brass since Rick Barnes.PC got the yips. Could have won that game. No way they have this much talent next year. This was their chance. Ugh
Sorry, I did a thesis on International Peacock Day but I've never delved into the domestic equivalent.Maybe, the google didn't provide much besides links to stuff from today, that seemed to originate in a pinterest post. Wiki has nothing (so clearly 100% not true)
Pasadena paper in 2020 lists Peacock day ( I think for the zoo was 3/28/2020) https://www.pasadenanow.com/main/peacock-day-beauty-legend-and-legacy
And someplace in GA lists it as 5/14/2022 (again seems local festival). https://festivalnet.com/24539/Pavo-Georgia/Festivals/Peacock-Day-Festival
But nothing on the Google I could find suggests this is real
Cue @SumnerH for a detailed history back to the founding fathers
Just letting down the man-bun of the past 10 years? Maybe Jason Mamoa had bigger cultural influence than imagined priorIs long hair coming back into fashion for men?
It’s particularly noticeable in this UNC-UCLA game, but I’ve noticed it more broadly.
I knew it! well playedSorry, I did a thesis on International Peacock Day but I've never delved into the domestic equivalent.

I don't know if they got a "home whistle", but seemingly every close out of bounds call went to St. Peter's, all game long.View: https://twitter.com/NYPost_Brazille/status/1507539182897541126
Yes. The time tested “Saint Peter's home whistle”
I'm skipping the first 36 minutes of this and Nova Houston. Exhausted. This Miami vs Iowa State game is horribad basketball. Just awful.
I'm rooting for Miami just for the Jim Larranaga factor. But I think I'll root for them from a distance. This Miami vs Iowa State game is horribad basketball. Just awful.
I think 22 is the highest cumulative seeds in the final 4 so if Kansas loses there is a good shot to surpass thatDuke
Villanova
Kansas
UNC
An all blue blood Final Four.
