Brock played well, but I hope Belichick gives him a lot to handle in terms of looks and blitzes. Seemed a little out of sorts when things didn't go according to script, which to be fair is true of pretty much every QB who's starting his first game.
I thought he moved pretty well out of the pocket and made some plays. I didn't see all of the game but I thought he was pretty good getting out of the pocket and finding the open guy a few times.Brock played well, but I hope Belichick gives him a lot to handle in terms of looks and blitzes. If anything I expect the opposite - a lot of 8 man coverages to force Brock to go to his 2nd, 3rd, 4th reads and make a mistake. I may be wrong but my general recollection of BB vs. young QBs is to play more coverage than pressure.Brock played well, but I hope Belichick gives him a lot to handle in terms of looks and blitzes. LaCanfora reported earlier that the Broncos don't want to play Manning unless he's back practicing fully. There's talk he's done for year, but at very least, out 2 weeks.Has Peyton actually been ruled out?
Well when his punching a guy (a week after he got fined for a defenseless receiver hit) gets about 1200 less than Carson Palmer's crotch chop, he's kind of getting a pretty strong signal as to what the NFL cares about. Is TJ Ward eventually going to be suspended? Maybe after someone gets carted off? He's trolling the league each week with hits like this.
Does he want the win record that badly? Sheesh.Florid on the pregame said Manning plans to play next year. Dungy seemed shocked. Rodney basically told him to go home to his family.
yeah he wants the wins record and the 19 mil but denver will cut him in marchDoes he want the win record that badly? Sheesh.
I'm half joking, half seriously wondering if Brady's email has anything to do with this.
the bears was playing like it was their super bowl the bears Def has been good the last 4 weeksIt's one game, and they scored 17 points against a terrible D. Pump the brakes a bit.
He's 17 ahead of Brady today. So, he may be able to keep that and I acknowledge playing next year would help---but I am not sure I'd bet on Manning or Favre having it in two years ,either.yeah he wants the wins record and the 19 mil but denver will cut him in march
You're right, typically, especially with guys who can run a little. Tannehill was a notable exception - they blitzed the shit out of of him his rookie year and got a ton of sacks. Maybe the best argument for blitzing Denver would be that you might be able to blow up some of the zone blocking schemes with quick penetration - run blitzing on early downs might also frustrate passing attempts on those downs. Then get Osweiler in third-and-long and play coverage and make him go through progressions in the pocket. If anything I expect the opposite - a lot of 8 man coverages to force Brock to go to his 2nd, 3rd, 4th reads and make a mistake. is not becauseYeah, the Bears were giving up 26 points per game before today.
I'd be happy with what I saw from Brock in general, but to extrapolate that out to the Broncos ruling the west for years is a little premature.
It sure helps when you play Denver and St Louisthe bears was playing like it was their super bowl the bears Def has been good the last 4 weeks

Professors Eh? You're a classier man than I. As for the $19 million, anyone know Manning's net worth? It has to be over $250 mil right?i wouild be gov of Tennessee or hang out on UT campus and see how many female prof i can score with and go after wit records
Don't know how accurate this is, but it says $185MProfessors Eh? You're a classier man than I. As for the $19 million, anyone know Manning's net worth? It has to be over $250 mil right?
What're you referring to?So Peyton's camp couldn't bear to let Osweiler have even one day before they hit the switch on the QB Controversy Machine?
If it's gonna be like that I wonder if Elway is thinking about IR-ing him to slam the door closed. Probably not after just one start by Brock, but the team does not need a veteran trying to rock the boat.
"Someone close to Manning" put word out during Sunday Night Football via Florio that Manning will play in 2016 whether it's with Denver or somebody else. What're you referring to?
Is Peyton above encouraging Johnny to fall off the wagon in a blizzard of white powder?Browns
Yeah that's typically how they approach it and if Sanders can't go I'd guess they take Thomas out of the game as much as possible and make the crappy support staff beat them. Osweiller didn't make mistakes today but the offense was super vanilla. You're right, typically, especially with guys who can run a little. Peyton trying to score coke sounds like a great SNL skit.Is Peyton above encouraging Johnny to fall off the wagon in a blizzard of white powder?
Notice in the latest nationwide commercial he's sitting on the bed in the hotel grinding his teeth and wiggling his toes...Peyton trying to score coke sounds like a great SNL skit.
And he doesn't actually eat. Loss of appetite..Notice in the latest nationwide commercial he's sitting on the bed in the hotel grinding his teeth and wiggling his toes...
Seriously. Wasn't j-Man predicting 9-7 like 48 hours ago? Usual caveats, any given Sunday, etc, but I highly doubt the AFC West is shook seeing Brock hang 17 on the fucking Bears for fucks sake. It's one game, and they scored 17 points against a terrible D. Pump the brakes a bit.
I continue to be puzzled why more national media don't treat him like the diva he clearly is. Tremendous quarterback for a long, long time...but a guy who is a lot higher maintenance than he is acknowledged as being, too."Someone close to Manning" put word out during Sunday Night Football via Florio that Manning will play in 2016 whether it's with Denver or somebody else.
Why would Peyton want to go to the Browns? Seems like he'd be looking for a place where he could ride a great defense and running game to some easy wins. Basically the 2015 Broncos, and that hasn't exactly worked out.Browns
Houston makes a lot of sense. Southern team, gets two shots a year at the Colts. They don't really have a decent starter at QB. The defense isn't great, but it's at least middle of the pack and the running game with Foster could be good, but I think Peyton's ego wouldn't want it to be that good anyway. Why would Peyton want to go to the Browns? I think there's gonna be multiple teams interested in Manning as a one-year bridge. Anyone drafting a first round QB, for example.[QUOTE="Stitch01, post: 1476552, member: 3021"
Manning isn't going to have anyone giving him a starting job next year so unless he wants to get paid backup money and compete in a camp for a job his wishes are only partially relevant. Him totally sucking up the joint as a Brown would be both sad and the most Browns thing ever
Manning has a relationship with the Haslam family dating back to his college days at Tennessee. Why would Peyton want to go to the Browns? Seems like he'd be looking for a place where he could ride a great defense and running game to some easy wins. Basically the 2015 Broncos, and that hasn't exactly worked out.
Sorry, but the quote about a 2014 trade is absolute horse (Bronco?) shit. At the trade deadline, that's a 7-2 team coming off a Super Bowl and record scoring season. The team was running a very different offense--and still putting +30 points a game--and on their way to a 2 seed. And Osweiler was a complete unknown. That quote may be attributed to Elway continuing to distance himself from Peyton, but there is no way the Broncos were going to dump Manning in the offseason let alone for a 6th midway through last year.
So, the Manning wants to play another year and Elway was willing to take a 6th for Brock O stories coming out within 24 hours of yesterday's game. Seems like the Manning camp is going to go down in a ball of whiny flames. Not surprising tbh.
Think you're misreading. The claim is that Elway was willing to trade Osweiler for a 6, not Manning.Sorry, but the quote about a 2014 trade is absolute horse (Bronco?) shit. If anything, it hints at how ugly this divorce could get over the coming weeks and months.
Huh. So having a kid does make you an idiot. At least she let us come home in time for MNF.Think you're misreading. The claim is that Elway was willing to trade Osweiler for a 6, not Manning.
Big time dude. The sleep deprivation alone shaves of 10-20 IQ points.Huh. So having a kid does make you an idiot.
To have control over one's exit from pro sports, one must exercise that control before reaching the stage of age-related decline that Peyton has. End of last year wouldn't have been great, but it looks like it was probably his last chance. One who denies/ignores objective indicators of decline is unlikely to retain the privilege of control over the exit. The leaks about wanting to play next year suggest he continues to be in denial. But his arm really hasn't looked good all year, has it? Isn't it fair to say it isn't coming back at this point?I'll cut Peyton some slack here. He's been one of the greatest and most hyped QBs probably since he started HS, certainly since he got to Tennessee. He's had a top 3-7 GOAT career and it's ending very badly. If you take a continuum from Elway to Theismann in terms of "how do I want to end my career" this is near the bottom.
I know the NFL is a brutal business but the guy probably thought he'd have a chance for a more graceful exit, or at least he would have more control over his exit.
