I would have had Dyson bunting there.  Fast guy on third, fast guy at the plate, third baseman with a bad back, oafish first baseman, grossly fat pitcher.
It was the only logical way for this game to end. Baseball gods tend not to appreciate a manager who ignores baseball logic.

Didn't the A's win a ALDS game against BOS with a bases loaded bunt with two outs?

I feel like Mugsy's Walk-Off Bunt should be the one answering this question.

Answer: Yes, Game 1 of the 2003 ALDS. A's catcher Hernandez caught Mueller at 3B by surprise with the bases loaded.

I wonder if the Mets are pulling a Beach Boys/Brian Wilson, having a bag of McDonald's burgers and giving him one for every inning he completes

So who does this hurt more for the rest of the series?

Royals, Mets have crappy relievers anyway, doesn't matter if they're tired.

Its funny but I vote neither.  The guys who through a lot tonight are basically their swing men anyhow (Niese and Colon for the Mets, Young for the Royals - Herrera is pretty resilient).

And the Royals have Medlen to start in game 4 if Young pitches too long tonight and can't go.

14th!

And anyone with a 5 hour DVR window who couldn't watch live and hasn't caught up yet is officially going to be deeply pissed when they get here.

Ok.  Someone help me.  ARod is actually very smooth and cogent as an analyst.  Harold and Joe have softened me up for him I fear...
