Think about a punter or a QB stepping out the back of his own end zone.He wasn't tackled by a Steeler player though. I figured it would be a touchback?
Hill - the Byner of his generationHill needs more hate for his fumble.
Going out the back of your endzone is a safety. He wasn't tackled by a Steeler player though. I figured it would be a touchback?
Yeah, Denver has a had a horseshoe all year. Everything seems to be breaking for them -- including the Patriots' injuries and end of season swoon. Just as they've gotten several breaks late in games. Hopefully the Patriots will flip the script on them, but you need breaks to win the championship and the Broncos are really getting them this year.Neither team deserves any sympathy. Shazier tilted the game from very chippy to ugly. He is an asshole.
Big winner tonight, as usual, the Denver fucking Broncos. I think Ben's right shoulder is probably fucked. When he dodged Tracy's question, that may have been the death warrant for next week.
This statement will never go out of style.Marvin Lewis should be fired.
BUT IF HE WAS DOWN WHAT DOES IT MATTER IF HE RUNS IT BACK THE WRONG WAY?Of course he was down. That doesn't change what the player did. My point was just how insanely stupid the Bengels are. The player makes a huge interception that should win his team the game, and instead he runs it for a TD, to the wrong endzone. While it didn't count, because he was down, the player was still insanely stupid to run to the wrong endzone. Even dumber than that Marlon McCree play in the Pats - SD game back in 2006.
No way is Denver winning the SB this year. The NFC winner would eat them alive.Yeah, Denver has a had a horseshoe all year. As long as the opponent is not by some miracle the Vikings or Redskins, I give Denver almost no chance to win the Super Bowl.Yeah, Denver has a had a horseshoe all year. The only positive for Marvin Lewis is that no one is going to hire Jackson after that play call. The fumble was bad but it's not like you can just sit on it there. The FG wasn't a gimmie (45 yards, right?), if they miss Pitt has excellent field position down only 1.
Besides, the true origin of this was the weird play call on the 2 pt conversion.
Three time outs for Pittsburgh, and 1:50 or so on the clock, so even with three kneel downs and a FG, they still have about 1:35 or so to try to win, and if you miss the filed goal, they have a short field down by 1 with lots of time. Whereas a first down wins the game.I mean, it was an intentional strip so it's not the most egregious fumble of all time. It's not like he just dropped it.
But I don't get why they're risking anything there. FG probably wins it and they're already well in range.
Coaches are allowed to come on the field when their players are a victim of an attempted murder. Why was Joey Porter even allowed on the field? What the fuck? When are coaches EVER allowed on the field during the game?
The final toss to Brown was overthrown, but it was 20 yards downfield and had some mustard on it.I know Ben dodged the question, but how seriously can his injury be if he was back out there at the end? He wasn't throwing down field, but he did throw so I'll assume it's nothing broken right?
I know you have to run it, I just mean that protecting the ball has to be the bigger priority there for Hill instead of trying to push that extra yard before going down.Three time outs for Pittsburgh, and 1:50 or so on the clock, so even with three kneel downs and a FG, they still have about 1:35 or so to try to win, and if you miss the filed goal, they have a short field down by 1 with lots of time. Yeah, for all the hand-wringing (myself included!) Denver is still a big ? on offense, and the Steelers have defended the run pretty well.Manning losing to this skeleton steeler squad is going to pass the Rahim Moore game for number 1 on the top ten one and done list if Brown is out. Thought the ceiling was #2 before but this will be the topper
That sounds right, per the NFL's website (haven't check the official rulebook though):ESPN ref expert is saying the Shazier hit was a PF for hitting with the crown of the helmet, defenseless receiver or not.
What the rule changes: A 15-yard penalty will be called if a runner or a tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players clearly are outside the tackle box (an area extending from tackle-to-tackle and from 3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team's end line). Incidental contact by the helmet of a runner or a tackler against an opponent would not be deemed a foul.
Yeah, and they're playing with a ninth string QB or a guy with no arm. I think that's enough to stay conservative.Three time outs for Pittsburgh, and 1:50 or so on the clock, so even with three kneel downs and a FG, they still have about 1:35 or so to try to win, and if you miss the filed goal, they have a short field down by 1 with lots of time. Forgot about that one with the whole melee that ensued after. I'm guessing he's OK enough to play vs Denver. Brown if another story ...The final toss to Brown was overthrown, but it was 20 yards downfield and had some mustard on it.
Yeah, he was trying to get that extra yard. Hard to coach that out of guys, I guess -- Philly did against the Patriots earlier this year too. It happens more than it seems it should.I know you have to run it, I just mean that protecting the ball has to be the bigger priority there for Hill instead of trying to push that extra yard before going down.
I thought they had two plays in the second quarter that were their best work of the seasonYou guys are letting Nantz and Simms off easy here. We have had to sit through some pretty god awful and stupid game commentary but what they did tonight was disgusting. Between the dirty hits on both sides and the verbal shit shower from those two fuck faces, I need a bath.
Their best work of the season is when they lost power in the booth and we couldn't hear them.I thought they had two plays in the second quarter that were their best work of the season
This is the SoSHiest parody post I've seen in a while. 5 stars.I thought they had two plays in the second quarter that were their best work of the season
DEN isn't going to lose to this PIT team thanks to their D, running game and the fact the Steelers will be down their top WR, top 2 RB and Ben will be severely limited. Of course the narrative will be Peyton's return to greatness after the throws for 150yds 1TD and completes 55% of his passes.Manning losing to this skeleton steeler squad is going to pass the Rahim Moore game for number 1 on the top ten one and done list if Brown is out. Thought the ceiling was #2 before but this will be the topper
Was never about the round 2 opponent for me. Having to go to Denver has always been the problem.. Pats were easily the better team in Denver last time and lost because flagflagflagflag. Weird shit happens there and the world is somehow rallying around Fathead McTeabag.Denver has had the luckiest season since the Jets season in 2009 or 2010 that was filled with crazy shit that helped them out, including winning a game because Suh shanked an XP.
But what really matters is how the Pats play. If they can't beat KC at home with KC having one offensive weapon they don't deserve to be SB champions. I think it will be a great challenge for the offense in particular, and I am excited to see how they respond. If Brady and Belichick have to put Peyton down once and for all in Denver, so be it.
He was throwing dinks and dunks. Note that when he came back out after the injury, he was not throwing or warning up. I think he was done for the night. Then Landry Jones shat himself, so they went back to Ben. If he is seriously impaired, the Broncos will jam and blanket those receivers, completely shut down the ground game, and that will be that on offense. In other words, the Broncos could be playing the functional equivalent of peyton before he was pulled this year.I know Ben dodged the question, but how seriously can his injury be if he was back out there at the end? He wasn't throwing down field, but he did throw so I'll assume it's nothing broken right?
If Denver makes the SB, the NFC winner will probably have their team plane crash. This is starting to remind me of Bettis' SB season and it's really pissing me off.No way is Denver winning the SB this year. The NFC winner would eat them alive.
