I am not shocked that the WRs blow. You can pick multiple years in the dynasty with shitty receivers. I am shocked that BB with a QB on a rookie contract has just basically ignored offensive tackle or stocked the cupboard with shitty offensive tackles. They have almost always had three good tackles. Hell, he drafted Solder and Cannon in the 2011 draft to a team that had Vollmer, Light, and Kaczur in 2010. And it worked out because Kaczur was cut and Light retired after the 2011.
Everybody wants to say that BB is actively trying to sabotage the team, but Gasper put it better when he said that BB views everyone except the historical greats as fungible players on his genius coaching board, and this simply isn't working out when you take the Brady off the board. He says he's blessed to coach the greats like LT and TB, but deep down, he believes he pushes the needle. And he's been wrong.

IIRC, Malik is the only mobile QB on the roster. With a leaky OL, mobility seems valuable.

If Boutte isn't active today, what is he doing on the roster?
I don't follow other teams at all, but do other teams do this? Just keep players inactive randomly even when you suck so bad that you eliminate any chance for a creative spark?

This is why the "short leash" BS is just that IMO. If Cunningham is warning up with recievers that's going to be his primary role. I seriously doubt he sees significant playing time at QB even if Mac sucks again. Probably some gadget type plays here and there. Zappe sucks and isn't an NFL player, so Cunningham can add a wrinkle and hopefully be entertaining out there while hopefully not being unplayable like Zappe.

Short leash for Mac my ass. By demoting Zappe they more or less guarantee Mac sees 95% if the snaps. Maybe Cunningham plays a few snaps but if Mac throws multiple picks in the first half there is simply no chance he gets benched in favor of Cunningham.

Yess, well said. I’ve been thinking this for years. His entire approach is predicated on the belief that he will always have a coaching advantage. He loves to say “this is a players game,” but deep down he thinks the opposite.

Zappe and Grier are both inactive. If Mac can't perform they have no one to go to but Malik.

If you think he's playing QB full-time today even if Mac stinks I don't know what to tell you. Mac is playing 95% or more of this game no matter how he performs. Cunningham is up as a receiver and gadget guy.

Possibly. Probably. Makes no sense to ride or die with Mac given what we've seen recently. But I've got my popcorn ready and so do you.
