I understand why the NFL calls DPI more closely than lower levels of the sport do. Passing offense would be impossible if NFL corners got away with what high-school corners do. But when they’re calling DPI on contact that would be let go in basketball or soccer, that’s going too far.
Not to mention it would have been a completely useless offsides flag, where they may have gained 3 inches inside the 1. Instead they false start and move back to the 5 yard line.

The system being so beastly for RBs does make the drafting of high end RB like Bijan questionable. It's clear Smith doesn't think he needs to get him the ball.
Ridder is a messy passer. But you draft a guy 8th and then keep using the guy you drafted in the first round the year before.
Ask London and Pitts how much Smith uses his high draft picks. The Ringer fantasy guys are going to lose their minds even more than normal.
Yeah, London gets like 1 target every month and Pitts is basically a decoy at this point. I know Arthur Smith "hates" fantasy sports, but sometimes it's good to get your best players the ball. I dunno.
