This defense has something, Mac looks like a reasonable projection from his 2021 season, the coaching staff has no obvious holes... They just need to stop making the bonehead plays that put them in an early deficit.

This defense is nails. They struggled mightily at times but at the end of the day they kept the score down. Offense is too sporadic, Mac can't keep looking like Joe Montana for two drives a game and David Carr for the other ten.
Did Tua play better than him tonight? Honest question.

Edit.. and also.. if Waddle and Hill are on the Pats..how much better would he be?

They are a good bad team. But they are still bad
Hard to argue using the Parcells Principle. But I didn't have high expectations going in to the season and they have managed to play well enough to give two really good teams a hard time.

They are an annoying team. Annoying teams can be fun to root for. But also annoying.

Using the non conclusive line? Because otherwise there's no way a replay official can accurately figure that out
The chains always start on a yard line for this very reason. They just need to compare the ball to the hash mark.

The new edict is never measure after a review. The relay official determines first down or not.
How is that possible? The red marker isn’t EXACT. It’s just a guide. The guy in the booth cannot possibly determine that on a play that close.

Stop trying to be the one honest cop in the town full of homers, some of you. Irrefutable evidence is the standard. That wasn’t in the fucking neighborhood of that. Who knows whether they would’ve capitalized, and they are completely pedestrian, blah team, at least offensively. And did plenty to earn the loss. But that was a fucking atrocious application of the replay rule. And robbed them of a chance.

Yeah, because the DL was in Mac's face again. Everything just not quite good enough.
That sums it up. Overturn sucked, but there were reasons the Pats were forced to pick up a 4th-and-long that had nothing to do with the official.

Seems silly that we believe the difference in the game is an offensive guard catching a lateral and running for a first down. The offense sucks and wasn’t able to run on a team that gave up like 200 yards last week.

Wait, what do you mean by this? Are you saying the line to gain can never be between two hash marks?

The chains start on a tick and end on a tick (hash mark). They just need to compare to the hash mark.

Here
Dolphins blew coverage and Parker was completely wide open on the right side, but Mac had pressure in his face immediately and didn't have time to see it.

Not never, because sometimes there can be half the distance penalties that put the ball on a half yard line for a first down. Or a team turns it over on downs from a half yard line. But other than that, every new series will start exactly on a line.
