The Cowboys defense that has been out there since halfway through the second quarter can win lots of games

Does Dak get a couple more MVP votes thanks to tonight?
I don't see how. There are probably 3 QBs with better cases than him. At least 2 of those QBs had better games than Prescott this week, with the third, Brady, being debatable. And while Dallas is a great story, won't Dak and Ezekiel hurt each other's chances for the award? He does have MNF going for him, I guess.

I love Tony Romo but he has not taken a regular season snap since Thanksgiving Day last year, and has had another surgery and another back injury since then. I would be very concerned putting him out there, cause it isn't 2014 Tony Romo walking into the huddle.
From reading most of the team insiders, the coaches actually feel great about Tony Romo...as they having him taking snaps with the first team in each practice. There's been talk that Sanchez actually might get more snaps in the final game than Romo. While I wouldn't expect 2014 Romo, I don't think they are expecting a gimp out there either who can't throw a 17 yard out anymore...he prob would have gotten some snaps tonight if they were at all concerned about excessive rust, etc.

If a RB leads the league in yards before contact he should not even be considered for the MVP.
He is on pace for over 1,000 yards before contact . That is ridiculous.

I don't think anyone contacted him on this play:

Edit: You have to watch it on youtube, but it is at 37s.

He's a rookie, and benefits from playing behind a very good OL. That said, there are very few RB I would take over him.

Yeah but I don't know how much of that is real and how much is we need him to feel good about himself if we need him and maybe like the other guy said, making other teams interested in trading for him in the offseason.

That's a great stat although I wonder how often this is the case. If a back is routinely getting 3+ yards past the LOS untouched they're getting their first contact in somewhat open space and seemingly more likely to gain more yards after the contact.

For example, last year Demarco Murray led the league in yards before contact and also in gains of 3+ yards after contact.

Doesn't mean EE isn't having a great year. Just would suspect some correlation between YBC and YAC.

They are trying to win a championship, I highly doubt they think he actually sucks and are "trying to keep his trade value up" by not letting him shake rust off if he badly needs it. What are they getting in a potential trade anyway? A late round pick? I'm always skeptical of that motive.

A late round pick for a guy who was a top-5 QB within the past few years and has given no evidence of age-related decline in skills? I think you underestimate how badly teams like the broncos, rams and jags needed a QB this year.

Who'll be 37 years old to start the season, missed most of the last two years with a back injury, comes with a ton of baggage, and hasn't been in any game action since returning from injury this year.

Dude isn't fetching more than a 4th round pick, third if teams are really desperate (which, as you pointed out, many teams might be).

For whatever it may be worth, there was talk a couple of weeks ago of Dallas just cutting Tony loose to find an ideal landing spot, which would be a classy move. No team with half a brain will give much for him. Elway may make a move, but there will be a strong plan B. I wouldn't bet much on the guy lasting a game physically, much less a season.

But would you take David Johnson or L. Bell over him? I would, both have had better years behind much worse O-Lines.

Edit: On that screen pass he has great blocking and just has to run fast, he made a slight juke on one player who took at bad angle at 45 seconds. I am not discrediting him as a talent, just saying that he does not deserve to be the MVP.

Best TE? Best FG kicker?
Just catching up on this but yeah even in Grudenland those statements were over the top. Witten is a good player but he isn't anywhere near the best tight end in the game and unless Justin Tucker died and I didn't hear about it Bailey isn't the best kicker either.

That's about all I would take over him without hesitation. I don't disagree with what you are saying about him.

EE reminds me so much of Arian Foster. Great all-around back, but he doesn't have breakaway speed. Just powerful acceleration and slight jukes like that run. That 45 second mark is just about where he accelerates and just coasts ahead of them into the end zone.
