Week 16: Broncos Is Caleb Spelled Like Joe Judge Scrawled It On A White Board

Closer to a championship than the Sox tbh. With Judon and Gonzalez teams might've score 5.8/gm against these dudes.
need a QB to win a championship. They don’t have one. And their path to getting a real difference maker just got narrower

it’s a lot “easier“ for the Sox to fix their problems than the Pats to fix theirs (QB and top WR)

Tanking on prime time on Christmas Eve can't be easy. I hope all of the draft picks ahead of the Pats bust to make the board feel better. Happy Holidays

Keep your fucking juju. I'd rather have the number 2 pick.
We may want to tank. But no coach is going to tell his team to purposely tank. As it no only affects the team but the players who may be FA (ie a player will lose money).

And yes. Its bad juju to want them to purposely tank. This team isnt dogshit like CAR where they are just terrible all together

Zappe looks like one of those backup QBs that can come in and actually win a game -- the type we've been envious of lately.

I'll take him as a backup.

Their defense is solid, especially with CGon coming back. They just need to get a WR1 and some more playmakers and some horses on the OL. They can grab their franchise QB in the 6th once again.

Or it could be Bryce Young or Ryan Leaf.
I’m surprised people actually think Bill is capable of tanking. Or that the players would do it, even if Bill wanted to.
Who's saying that BB is trying to tank? Can be bummed that they won and still acknowledge that they're trying to win.

They're picking a QB in the fourth because they're falling into the 4-5 slot in the first.
A new coach isn’t coming in with Bailey Zappe penciled in as the Number 1. There are viable options on the board late first/early 2nd.

That was totally on Payton. Bill was ready to let it go to OT, but Payton poked the bear with those timeouts.
I understood what Payton was thinking given how awful our offense has been all year and he was thinking they could eek out one last possession. But it was really inexcusable. It wasn’t like third and 12 or something. It was very makeable.

What are we doing here? I’ve gone from cab to vodka and I’m in shock these are even takes in a game thread.
No. Absolutely 100% no. Zappe may come to camp next year but if the Pats at any point thought he was QB1 then, well, he would have been given the shot at QB1. He’s slightly better than Mac Jones, Which is like saying herpes is slightly better than hepatitis

After six yards on first down, you let the clock run. That’s automatic. But it wasn’t, I guess…

nobody thinks Bill would actually tank

But this team desperately needs a franchise QB and you’re a lot more likely to get that in the top 2 than between 4-10 or wherever they pick

anyone who thinks upgrading from Trent Brown to Olu Fashanu or Josh Uche to Jared Verse is going to move this team into serious playoff contention is kidding themselves

any draft pick comes with bust potential, of course. But if you hit on the QB, you can turn things around quickly - see Houston and Cincinnati as examples. Even Jacksonville is only a playoff contender because they got their guy (todays disaster not withstanding).

Yeah, that's the problem -- it isn't going to set them back, it's just not going to help them move forward.
QB purgatory is just about the worst place for a team to be. Pittsburgh and probably Seattle moving forward are good examples. Constantly 7-10 with good rosters and QB they can’t win with

I also think the number 1 pick and/or Fields will be available. The 3rd pick might have the inside track, though, as Bears would probably want Harrison if they stick with Fields.

I'd rather have Verse than Maye or Nix (or god forbid JJ McCarthy). Sorry. Mahomes, Hurts, Allen, none were top 2, or even top 5, picks.

It's Caleb or bust this year, and Panthers aren't winning again. Bears may have a QB, but he's going first regardless.

How many Super Bowls have the Texans, Jags, or Bengals won?

If there is anything good that came out of tonight it’s A).It turns out Russell Wilson is not John Elway (or hell, even Craig Morton), and B) Jesus, Sean Payton. Is this like a Flowers for Algernon thing where he briefly became brilliant and then descended into stupidity?
