I don't think all of those guys are definitely even better passers, nevermind "much better" passers. Lamar is lower volume because of the offense, but his passing production is very good and his pass-catchers aren't close to the best on that list. Mahomes is a much better passer, the rest... maybe better?Mobile is different than what Lamar does. Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Hurts, Herbert, etc., are plenty mobile. But they aren't putting themselves at risk a dozen times per game, and they're all much better passers.
yeah, Hurts is what Lamar would be if Lamar added “throws a bunch of terrible INTs” to his game. Allen and Hurts are very similar to Lamar, they scramble for yards and also have designed runs called for them. If I had a nickle for every Josh Allen isn't going to last around these parts post I'd be a bit richer. Mahomes yards come off scrambles but he still takes a beating and already played a Super Bowl with an injury suffered while scrambling. Burrow's season in many ways was sunk by a calf injury scrambling in a training camp drill. Out and out saying you wouldn't take the guy on your team is crazy talk.Mobile is different than what Lamar does. Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Hurts, Herbert, etc., are plenty mobile. It would most likely be Kellen MooreWould love to see Staley dumped after this game and the Chargers get a boost with an interim coach.
Which means they'll find a way to overturn it.What a fun play.
I like Lamar more than most I think, but one playoff win in his career is hard to get past, until he does better. He doesn't play with a lot of great skill players but he's got a good coach and a consistently solid defense (in his 5 years as a starter, the defense is on average 6th in points and 9th in yards allowed).yeah, Hurts is what Lamar would be if Lamar added “throws a bunch of terrible INTs” to his game. And I really like Hurts.
Lamar is consistently underrated.
For which play? For a lateral, the question is whether the ball went backwards or parallel. For a pass to be legal, some body part must be behind the line of scrimmage.Doesn't matter but why was the "line of scrimmage" where his hand was instead of his body?
Thanks. Yes, the lateral. My thinking was that his feet/body would determine the LOS. But their graphic made it look like his hand was the LOS. Watching without audio so was just wondering if I missed something. For which play? For a lateral, the question is whether the ball went backwards or parallel. Gotcha — yeah, I think on a lateral all that matters is the ball.Thanks. Yes, the lateral. My thinking was that his feet/body would determine the LOS. But their graphic made it look like his hand was the LOS. Watching without audio so was just wondering if I missed something.
They'll wait until they lose next weekThis Chargers staff needs to be fired into the sun. Completely inept.
The sun does not deserve thatThis Chargers staff needs to be fired into the sun. Completely inept.
Slight edit.Oh no ... if Herbert's hurt, than next week is atossthrow up
Too rushed. They should have called time out or taken a delay. Timing was fucked up.That whole operation seemed off.
They seem like a team that should be way better. 4 wins? The Jets have 4 wins and the Pats could easily have 4 wins. We don’t have Justin Herbert. They need to get that HC out of there just to change things up at this point.I remain thoroughly unimpressed by the Chargers.
The New York Giants have one of the worst offenses in the last decade+ by points scored.... they have the same number of wins. They seem like a team that should be way better. 4 wins? Giants blowing the game to the Jets is why Tommy D isn’t dreaming of the 7 seed. The New York Giants have one of the worst offenses in the last decade+ by points scored.... they have the same number of wins.
The Bills loss was worseGiants blowing the game to the Jets is why Tommy D isn’t dreaming of the 7 seed.
Don't tell Tommy Diveto thatGiants at 6-6 would be very funny
My co-worker is a Charger fan. He was making his case a few years ago with some Jets & Giants fans as to why they are a tortured fanbase. A subjective call — unsurprisingly after 66 minutes of watching these officials work — went Philly’s way while Buffalo led by three points in overtime. On second-and-3 from Buffalo’s 39, Jalen Hurts threw to star receiver A.J. Brown, who had the ball in his mitts and got his feet down seemingly long enough to take possession before linebacker Tyrel Dodson knocked it to the ground for a game-ending Buffalo recovery. But the pass was ruled incomplete, and the ball was ready to be snapped so fast that NFL video replay officials couldn’t have properly scrutinized whether it was a fumble.
JFC. That "fumble" was so clearly an incomplete a review wasn't even necessary.I only caught the very end of the Bills-Eagles. Was the officiating that bad (ie, more terrible than usual)? The Athletic has the whiniest article I think I’ve ever read.
The one video example of Josh Allen’s “horse-collar” is pretty clearly not a horse-collar. And the non-fumble in OT seemed pretty obviously not a catch. The Athletic writer sounds like a message board poster:
The Chargers are like that. The Giants are not a tortured fanbase. 4 SBs in my lifetime and a Super Bowl loss. Seems pretty good.My co-worker is a Charger fan. He was making his case a few years ago with some Jets & Giants fans as to why they are a tortured fanbase. This line stuck with me:
"They can't just lose 21-3. They have to fall behind 21-3, pull ahead 24-21 with 2 minutes left, and lose 28-24 on the next drive."
I didn't think so. The Brown play was pretty clearly not a catch. And the Bills caught a few breaks with Kelce's first snap penalty and the roughing the passer call where Allen reacted like he was hit by a truck. The refs basically had their usual B- performance.I only caught the very end of the Bills-Eagles. Was the officiating that bad (ie, more terrible than usual)?
