I don't think all of those guys are definitely even better passers, nevermind "much better" passers. Lamar is lower volume because of the offense, but his passing production is very good and his pass-catchers aren't close to the best on that list. Mahomes is a much better passer, the rest... maybe better?
yeah, Hurts is what Lamar would be if Lamar added “throws a bunch of terrible INTs” to his game. And I really like Hurts.
Lamar is consistently underrated.
Allen and Hurts are very similar to Lamar, they scramble for yards and also have designed runs called for them. If I had a nickle for every Josh Allen isn't going to last around these parts post I'd be a bit richer. Mahomes yards come off scrambles but he still takes a beating and already played a Super Bowl with an injury suffered while scrambling. Burrow's season in many ways was sunk by a calf injury scrambling in a training camp drill. Out and out saying you wouldn't take the guy on your team is crazy talk.
Would love to see Staley dumped after this game and the Chargers get a boost with an interim coach.
Perfect play call for defense playing deep on third and forever. I think it was forward though.
Which means they'll find a way to overturn it.
I actually thought the most questionable part was whether Ekeler got the first down before going out of bounds. He was weirdly lackadaisical at the end of the play.
I like Lamar more than most I think, but one playoff win in his career is hard to get past, until he does better. He doesn't play with a lot of great skill players but he's got a good coach and a consistently solid defense (in his 5 years as a starter, the defense is on average 6th in points and 9th in yards allowed).
Aside from the playoff performance, he misses games. 5 games in 2021 and 5 more in 2022, he hasn't been available for the full year since his rookie year (when he took over as starter later in the year). Reliability at the QB position is just massive, and he's less reliable than most.
For which play? For a lateral, the question is whether the ball went backwards or parallel. For a pass to be legal, some body part must be behind the line of scrimmage.

Thanks. Yes, the lateral. My thinking was that his feet/body would determine the LOS. But their graphic made it look like his hand was the LOS. Watching without audio so was just wondering if I missed something.
Herbert looked like he got hit in the head by his own player while he was lying on the ground after the fumble.
Too rushed. They should have called time out or taken a delay. Timing was fucked up.

They seem like a team that should be way better. 4 wins? The Jets have 4 wins and the Pats could easily have 4 wins. We don’t have Justin Herbert. They need to get that HC out of there just to change things up at this point.
The New York Giants have one of the worst offenses in the last decade+ by points scored.... they have the same number of wins.
Giants blowing the game to the Jets is why Tommy D isn’t dreaming of the 7 seed.
My co-worker is a Charger fan. He was making his case a few years ago with some Jets & Giants fans as to why they are a tortured fanbase. This line stuck with me:
"They can't just lose 21-3. They have to fall behind 21-3, pull ahead 24-21 with 2 minutes left, and lose 28-24 on the next drive."
I only caught the very end of the Bills-Eagles. Was the officiating that bad (ie, more terrible than usual)? The Athletic has the whiniest article I think I’ve ever read.

The Chargers are like that. The Giants are not a tortured fanbase. 4 SBs in my lifetime and a Super Bowl loss. Seems pretty good.
I didn't think so. The Brown play was pretty clearly not a catch. And the Bills caught a few breaks with Kelce's first snap penalty and the roughing the passer call where Allen reacted like he was hit by a truck. The refs basically had their usual B- performance.
Giants aren't within a million miles of being tortured.
The Chargers are absolutely tortured. So are the Jets but at least the Jets have Namath. The Chargers have nothing but crushing losses.
