That's why guys don't last as long in this league as Tom Brady. Coming off surgery why take that hit?
Especially with a kicker who has looked like absolute shit on 3 attempts so far. And Tom Brady on the other sideline. Insanity.

Bucs have the best DLine against the run and their secondary is trash, the offense has not been the problem for DAL.
My favorite part of the season starting is remembering the shit coaches who still have jobs. We lost Adam Gase, sadly, but McCarthy lives.
Yeah, I'm assuming he had about 50 yards to beat 5 giant linemen and Tom Brady and get to the end zone, with blockers in front of him. Running directly into the tacklers, diagonally towards the nearest sideline, is clearly the worst option. Would love to see the All-22 of that play.
When you've forced multiple turnovers and the other team still scored 21 points, maybe try slowing it down?
Malcolm Butler actually did that in a game against Washington a couple years ago. Game was already over though, so much lower stakes.

No. Passing the ball is not, in fact, how you give up 50 points. It is how you score 50, though.
I guess I'm bad at math, I was under the impression that giving the other team more possessions and more time would give them more opportunities to score points.
Tampa's front seven is really really good and Dallas's O-Line already isn't what it used to be before Zack Martin couldn't play b/c he's on the COVID list.
I wouldn't mind getting Zeke more involved in some of those outside short passes they used as an extension of the run game, but I don't think plowing him forward into Tampa's front is a solid plan either.
When you have an awful defense, giving the other team more possessions is, in fact, how you give up 50. Not saying passing a ton is necessarily the wrong move
But as long as you're giving up the same points per drive it's a meaningless distinction unless you believe you can actually score more points per drive by running since you'd be limiting your own possessions as well.
How are they moving the ball better against the Tampa run defense on the ground than they have been in the air? Zeke is really good, but that run defense grinds run games into dust and the mid-10s Dallas OL ain’t here.
