Cutting and accelerating? Good enough for me!

As long as he doesn't come back with bricks tied to his hands, ala LaFell, I think we're good to go.
There was some concern about Jules' ability to catch the ball after the TV cameras caught a shot of his messed up hand in a game earlier this season after he bobbled a ball into a pick 6. If there was an injury there, he's had a lot of time to let the hand heal, so I'm hoping his hands are even better than they were earlier!

Am I alone in wondering what is up with LaAdrian Waddle? How is his left shoulder? Is the silence about him because he is still hurt, or because people have forgotten him entirely.

He's close to the 53rd man on the roster and could be inactive even if he's healthy.

My son is not the 53rd man on the roster so you can shove it up your....

Err...Sorry about that.

In all seriousness, I defer to expertise, but is a healthy Waddle not a better bet than a healthy Fleming for the 3rd tackle? When Cannon and Fleming are the other 2 options, is he really a healthy inactive (serious question, I lack the skills to say).

Yeah, I don't know who is 3rd vs. 4th on the OT depth chart between him and Fleming. It's not so clear to outsiders which is another reason people aren't talking about it much as the difference between the two back-ups is difficult to discern. But if Vollmer and Williams are healthy one of those guys will likely be inactive.

My sense from in-game management and the insight of the PFW guys is that Fleming is the last resort at tackle. My guess is he would clearly be the most likely inactive from the backup OT group.

“@DougKyed: Gronkowski absent. Nate Ebner returns. Chandler Jones is here. Looks like PS WR DeAndre Carter cut to add Cedric Thompson, J.J. Worton.”

I'm going to assume a personal day or some vet maintenance thing, and not completely freak out.

EDIT: Or is this the place where I can start a "Gronk punched Belichick and got sent home" rumor?

He could be under the weather and they don't want it running through the locker room., which would be a non-issue for Sunday unless its Jamie Collins ebola or something.

Here
Belichick had a black eye, not a fractured face.

Hope it's a minor bug, guess we will find out tomorrow.

If injured wouldn't he have still be around locker room?

Does no reporter know what he drives?

Reiss speculates that Gronkowski was kept out of full-contact practice for purely precautionary reasons, but has no solid info.

Also reports that Vollmer is 'really battling' his injury and questions how effective the lineman will be.

Bedard had a very similar take on Volmer, he isn't moving well at all it seems.

Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones was rushed to Norwood Hospital Sunday morning after he showed up at the Foxboro Police Department with a medical emergency, police dispatch records show.

But police officials won’t say what the emergency was and the police chief confirmed information was deleted from dispatch records before they were released to the Herald.

Dispatch records show Jones arrived at the police station at 7:42 a.m. with a medical emergency and was evaluated by fire and EMS officials before being transported to Norwood Hospital just after 8 a.m.

Jones was present at practice yesterday and today
When the Herald called Foxboro Police Chief Edward T. O’Leary earlier today, he denied his department and officers had any dealing with Jones over the weekend and added the only time he’d ever seen Jones was being interviewed on television.

But dispatch records obtained by the Herald about two hours later showed at least five officers on the scene while Jones was being evaluated in a back parking lot of the station.

Another officer was dispatched to Jones’ home, which is only about a block from the police station, to “secure the residence,” according to the dispatch report.

When asked whether he had misspoken in his earlier conversation with the Herald, O’Leary said, “No, because it was a medical call. I didn’t look at it as a police specific call.”

O’Leary said no police report exists for the incident because the department doesn’t fill out paperwork for medical calls “unless a person’s dead.”

O’Leary also said he doesn’t know what medical emergency brought Jones to the police station because he had not spoken with any of his officers who handled the case and denied knowing why one of his officers went to Jones’ home to secure the residence.

it must not be that serious otherwise I doubt he would have been at practice the past few days
Did you read the story? Police went to his home to "secure the residence." He may not have a serious medical problem, but police involvement (including the redacting of the record) is going to mean something at some point

the pertinent part of the story

The dispatch report also shows that a Foxboro officer modified the dispatch record of the emergency call at 3:02 p.m. today – shortly after the Herald called O’Leary and received a copy of the dispatch call records.
O’Leary said medical information was deleted from the record.
“It’s protected information on a medical condition,” said O’Leary. “Officers get training in making sure it’s information that’s not to be disclosed. I trust my lieutenant to know the difference.”

For all we know it could be an asthma attack; but unless Jones or the team chooses to clear it up, it'll hang around a while

Wow this sounds pretty shady to me. Redacting information is never a good thing.
Unless it's mandated by federal law. He could have had an allergic reaction for all we know.

"Secure the residence" could be as simple as him running to the police station and leaving his door open to get there quickly.

I was mentioning this weirdness in the office and every response was some variation on "too much cocaine?" (I live in Oregon)

edit: like an allergic reaction... to cocaine! But really, does he live right by the police station? Why would he go there?

2 minutes away from the station.

And you don't "live" in Oregon ... you're just visiting for a long time

Isn't it normal to not disclose medical information? I think the weird part is he went to the police station. If he went to a hospital they wouldn't be announcing what was wrong with him. Obviously the police station was closer.
