When it's reduced to two wide midfields + 1 forward with two deeper CMs behind him (as in the 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3) he's not nearly as effective.
Evans is playing RB, Chandler has shifted to LB. Beckerman DM. Yedlin playing RM, with Zardes moving up top.
Its amazing that Podolski is still a German international. Talk about the power of being well liked.

US looking significantly better in the first 15min of the second half than at any time during the first half. Several sustained possessions, a few good half-chances, etc. It's amazing what a goal will do for confidence.

Also, Yedlin's speed scares every defense in the entire world and opens up space. I really hope he continues to develop over the course of the cycle.
I can't figure out what's going on. On the one hand, Germany seems to be using Khedira as a striker, or at least playing with no defined striker in some sort of tactical experiment, and on the other hand, this game is tied and the US look more threatening in possession.

Great counter. MB with a terrific pass to Yedlin making the run on the wing. I'm torn if Yedlin should have pushed it and taken the shot but his ball to Bradley was nice. Just need a better finish.

Great performance. Germany trotted out a pretty weak team in the second half and looked a bit disinterested, but we still took the match by the scruff of the neck and controlled it completely, which you don't see very often against good competition.
